Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Life after Xerox

I left a year ago after 12 years and more than 30 years in the industry. There are many opportunities waiting for the many skilled and professional people I worked with. Just have the courage to make the leap! Life after Xerox is brighter than I could have imagined.

Corp. Brass (leadership is a term not befitting them) is pulling the strings, HR does their bidding.

Agree with your post. Human Resources in Xerox are below benchmark if the corporate leaders or board ever did their own study and not trust Xerox HR- Xerox employees are receiving substantially inferior benefits for the cost if assessed against competitor’s- Xerox employees are receiving on average substantially less pay for their area of expertise versus competition in those skill areas that are-not dependent on print/imaging equipment Industry. We’re losing some great talent in Xerox due to the incompetence of our HR organization- Wake up Xerox Leadership-

Entered Xerox 40 years ago. At that time HR heralded Xerox employees as the best around. We had the best pay , benefits and working conditions.Customers and competitors were in awe of Xerox employees, their loyalty and work ethic.
Leaving 5 years ago, the Fairy Tail had long ended ..The employee along with benefits and pay was considered a negative hit to the bottom line. Management with HR backing viewed Xerox workers as unwanted headcount.
Attitudes changed and the resulting mess
is what is left today …poor management,
and a dis-spirited workforce just putting in time ..Bye, bye to a once great company. Times change but Xerox didn’t deserve this .

Involuntarily retired early thanks to a layoff die to outsourcing. I'll need to go back to work at some point, but happier than I've been in 20 years to be out of that toxic cesspool. I wouldn't step foot in a xerox facility anymore, even to take a dump. I'd rather $h!t my pants than go anywhere near that he-l-hole. Good luck to all those still suffering. You can do better, there is life after xerox and it's good!

Xerox used their benchmark mentality to
beat down and disparage good workers.
The end result was low morale and the loss of hard working employees.

To @1kqb+1mp4XbHi, I never wanted to leave Xerox. I would have stayed with them to the end if it was an option. But the chronic layoffs were massively bad for morale and I saw the writing on the wall. My fantastic manager got laid off about 6 months before I made the jump. I'm sorry about the layoffs at your new place. The older you get, the longer it takes to adjust to a new employer. I hope they take you back but if they don't, you will find something else. Xerox does not pay enough that you won't find something just as good with probably better benefits. The only thing I really miss is the extended vacation that we had - but no one could ever manage to use since no one covered you.

I left Xerox last year and immediately regretted it. The new company did a layoff two months after I got trained. Loved my old manager just wanted to try something new. Trying to reapply now.

I left a couple months ago and it was the best thing I ever did for my career and mental health.

All my drive time is paid.

I have an actual dispatch and parts team.

I can take as much time needed to repair a machine, I don't have bs metrics.

Take home vehicle is provided at no cost with fuel card and tool allowance.

Don't have to fight ridiculous emails. No useless team meetings about metrics.

Xerox service is a joke. Move on and get with a company that is serious about taking care of their employees and customers.

Agreed. I didn't think I had any transferrable skills. But it turns out I did. I now make $30k more than my highest level at Xerox AND I get merit and COL raises and a bonus. I was so worried that healthcare benefits would cost so much more, but nope. They cost less now and have better coverage. So much for Xerox's fake benchmarking. I encourage everyone to write really detailed Glassdoor salary and benefits cost/reviews to help make sure the people that still work there know what they should be getting paid.
