Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Remote Targeted after this RTO mess

RTO attrition over next 90 days

What’s occurring now? Remote employees have no options for postings. No upward mobility.

What’s next for remote? Remote employees will get passed over for promotions & out of cycle pay increases.

Next: Remote employees will be left off projects, smaller teams, not aligned to key projects / value. Leading to PME & PIP’s end of year. Giving ability to terminate for cause.

I called the RTO back in June. I told you about ECIO. Told you all about remote no longer being allowed on job postings.

Not fear mongering. Wanting my colleagues to prepare for their own futures.

If one EMG gets a non-FMLA exception then all remote employees should be given equal opportunity to promotions.

EMGs are now required to be RTO 4 days per week - or so they say. Neeraj posted a pic of his team today (ERC) - allegedly all on site. Curious about Lesley Collins (Mani’s sycophant). I heard she lives in PA. Exception or don’t ask?

The reason EMG is doing everything first is so it looks like they’re “leading”. It’s been horrible to see longtime employees leave or RIFD. All their experience leaves with them and big holes for short time employees to fill. They don’t have the experience.
If that is not risky I do not know what is.

Get rid of DPO and PDPOs. Know nothings about IT.

What's good for thee is not good for me, (EMG vs Everyone else mentality)

Because directors are "boots on the ground" level employees lol. EMG is not.

Yes I know but why would director have to relocate or come in if EMG didn’t also? I’m confused. You’d think it would be MORE important for upper leadership to be in the building to “collaborate” with each other

Directors and EMG are two different roles.

Remote EMG in my area has not been told they have to relocate. Are you sure about that directive?

The writing is on the wall. All remote directors and above are being told to relocate to within 60 miles of an office or step down. Leadership was the first to be forced RTO. Then 4 days. Everything EMG dessiminates to leaders has trickled downstream. They are moving to zero remote (which was never an issue before) and they are going to completely destroy any chance to hire top talent. The only ppl that will WANT to come to USAA are ppl who failed miserably in their previous employer and have nowhere else to go. USAA is a premier destination for failed leaders.

We know what it means to sever.

I wonder how long I'd have to put up with being in office before they lay me off anyways? I love the idea of undermining this sc-mmy forced attrition move. But at the same time I don't want to go in to the office - not even once

Remote here. Was told to withdraw from applications since I am not willing to relocate and be Hybrid. Was told that positions are not “mapped” in HR to allow remote work. Exceptions only granted if a role can’t be filled, but they’ll hire external before allowing an exception. Experienced it personally…

Search connect for severance. It only works if you get laid off. It's not for quitting or getting fired.

Totally agree. The writing is on the wall. How do severance packages work? I've heard so many different things.
