Thread regarding USAA layoffs

USAA-FARGO

This company has become run by pi-s poor leadership who's intent is to send all jobs to India. They seem to think they’re going to drive productivity by forced RTO. Instead they’re going to wind up with a bunch of mentally checked out employees who are just there for a paycheck. The feeling is mutual, take care of your employees, they work hard for you. Don’t and? This boomer way of CEO thinking is destroying what has now become USAA-Fargo!

If the original poster's thought is correct that management wants to move jobs to India, I'd love to see and hear the reactions of veterans when they reach a foreigner on the phone.

San Antonio home office needs to be demoed. Stop with the new coats of paint to hide the mold.

There’s no shortage of applicants. There’s a shortage of talent.

Having been deployed I’ve literally been in deployed locations with better office than San Antonio’s home office.

Nice office? I know you’re not talking about the San Antonio home office, that place is literally a shhh hole! The cubicles are severely outdated, the wiring is at best, pi-s poor, which causes the equipment to work only 50% of the time. Saying the carpet is disgusting is a severe understatement.

No shortage of employees, while that might be true, what is true is the top talent leaving USAA and USAA not being able to replace that. You mention 5 years from now, hate to break it to you, but if the bank keeps going the way it currently is, it might not be around in 5 years. And that’s what happens when you hire failed executives from other big banks (Wells Fargo/BofA).

A really nice office? You’re not talking about home office…it’s giving asbestos.

It’s giving run down 1980’s bunker

It’s giving lead paint.

“Oh but we have sit stand desks” please go to literally any office in the United States.

Home office is, ghetto.

There’s no shortage of people wanting to come work. Correct.

There’s a shortage of top talent.

We are destroying our ability to attract and retain top talent.

We are narrowing our talent pool to a perplexing small % of the United States.

But sure, the kids from UTSA will come and innovate us into the future with amazing products compliantly because they know our members. :-|

GTFO bootlicker. Medical and retirement have both been pared down substantially under this new regime.

The office is complete $h!t compared to modern SV offices ppl desire. There's zero room to accommodate everyone and there's barely any working equipment.

The move to remote and non forced hybrid was the one thing keeping ppl onboard this sinking ship.

Enjoy all the extra work while masses leave and are not replaced. Don't say this entire forum didn't warn you so.

The good news is many people still want to get into USAA, so there will be no shortage of great employees. People who want to work hard and come into a really nice office can make a sh-t-ton of money with great retirement and medical bennies. Those who want to find another company are free to do it. Maybe in about 5 years we'll see how things have worked out for these different ways of treating work from home vs work from office.
