Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Book club

No raise in 6 years. The solution have everyone spend a few hours a week on a book club. The books were $28 a piece. That money would have been better spent taken care of a few employees. Hugs waste

If you need a book, especially one written by a previous drunk now on TDS, to learn how to lead, you will never be a leader. They really need to bring back Dr-g Testing, especially for top management. Have you seen their pictures/faces lately?

Order your copy. It's not like they'll use the $28 saved for anything, but golden parachutes or something that only benefits executive management

DTL has not been rolled out to hourly or union workers according to the DTL propaganda page.

The book study meetings are eight one hour weekly meetings some time between yesterday and the end of July (13 weeks).

Not only to read a book that they never said was mandatory until late this week is the 8 months of scheduled book club discussions. As if I have time for that. Lumen getting dimmer daily

A good thing that Lumen doesn't manufacture anything. A lot of companies that manufacture are laying off now due to inflation, just like they did in the 80's through no fault of their own. Did they not tell us on the news that the Federal Reserve is raising rates so there will be layoffs and some companies go bankrupt.

"With the Lq contract for 2023-2025 with decent increases, thinking about just riding it out to the conclusion. Just starting to make decent wages."

They sold out the new hires long before this. Everyone hired after 1/1/09 pensions are only worth about 10% of everyone's before. There's zero insensitive for anyone hired from that day forward to stay. It's also amazing that the company hasn't frozen the pension in any contract since 2009 since they divided & conquered at that point. Would anyone support a strike when their pension is worth 90% less?

The enhanced prem techs making $5 less an hour than the broadband techs will give the company the ability to cut some costs. It's amazing that techs are willing to train people who at some point will take their jobs for less money down the road.

Something is going to have to give here soon. They can't afford to wait on attrition to thin out the herd of craft as well as salary employees. When the stock hits 1.99 after the 1Q numbers it may force their hand

What does woke mean? I’d like to know how being whatever woke means apply to this situation and caused a dying industry /bad management / awful investments company make things worse then what has been going on for years? Stick with the facts, hyperbole is just lazy.

If that is true about LQ, LEQ needs to pay attention and get the same deal, or did they get them locked in first?

Only the union folks get a raise get a yearly raise. Most departments have not seen an increase in 6-7 years. You sound like Treszse the HR clown. Asking how important is your position.

No raise? Are you overseas? You don't deserve any. Bring back the jobs!
Lq contract for 2023-2025 is one of the best ever. Only the new hires are screwed. That was expected.

This is just the start. Now that the company is woke and is worried about ESG rating for investors it's only going to get worse. I'm just along for the ride at this point. Just hoping for a package
