A reckoning is coming. The days of easy money are gone. The companies (like Ford) that over-borrowed when interest rates were super low now struggle to cover their debt servicing costs and increased operating costs. Competitors smell the blood in the water and are cutting vehicle price tags at the same time Ford is increasing price tags.

Every quarter one wades through the financial reports looking for what clever accounting trick has been deployed. The bag of tricks is light and time is borrowed. Yet the peacocks strut and preen. Jeez can’t we have another serious grownup as a leader? We need another Mulally. We’ve had the pl----y, the nutty professor, the PR wunderkind. Now time for a grownup serious engineer.

@1iih+1mjlhkQr I wish I could ask Wall Street why they are not asking tough questions. I am sorry but BF did not provide any new information for this waste of company money.
Trust me If I ran a major hedge fund I would dump Ford stock a long time ago. Complete waste of money.
Your focus should be quality. Not wearing a little white (JF) suit yelling the Plane Boss (bf)...
A total circus.

Any of you who have had teenagers know that if their lips were moving they were most likely lying. Same same be said of the kiddos on the stage at the town hall. They all have tells, pay attention and you will know its 90% fertilizer (excr-ment).

The only truthful thing (non-spin) that BF said about the train station was back in 2018 when he said that he wanted to restore the train station to secure his family’s legacy in Detroit. Everything else has been figuring out messaging to justify spending stockholders money on a pet project. Early on experienced developers stated that a bare bones restoration would have a $2 billion price tag, and the proposed restoration would easily be $5 billion. That is 10% of the valuation of Ford.

Didn't any of you watch today's Global Town Hall? Bill Ford took head on the question of why we bought and are renovating the the train station. It was a detailed answer that should satisfy all the alleged pundits on this forum. Not to mention the comments from Jim Farley and Doug Field.

Can anyone tell me why did Ford buy that Crack house? First it was suppose to be a tech hub to rival silicon valley, then it was an event center, Even high rent apartments, now a hotel?
At the end of the day this will go down with the Edsel for MBA case study. What a waste of money. For one that area makes Beirut look like Beverley Hills. Why is Wall Steet or Investors not speaking up? So glad to dump all my Ford Stock. I have ZERO confidence in that management team.

Asked on Tuesday about the hotel, Bill Ford said the COVID-19 pandemic did impact their plan for a hotel, but they still want to open one in the former train depot.

“So we're taking our time there. We have to get the right one in,” he said. “We have a lot of people talking to us. We want to make sure we have the right one there that fits with the vibe of what we want there, and that we think has the longevity to stay there.

“Yes, we will have one - at some point. But we're not in a hurry.”

They just said the train station will reopen in early 2024, which is 8 months from now, but they don’t know what they are building in there? It won’t be open 2024, an$ there are more billions to be spent.

I think what annoys me the most about the campus transformation - including the train station - is that it is taking sooo long. And leadership continues to flex the timeline. I am certain that it is because the company is hemorrhaging money (AV, Rivian. recalls, etc.). We are so far beyond the quarantine and 'supply chain' issues that any reference to that being the current cause is just an excuse. Just finish it already. I say sh1t or get off the pot.

I used to go to the Corktown office (TFAC) for meetings before quarantine. The train station was talked about pretty frequently leading up to the purchase.

The consensus was that Billy F wanted some goodwill and to look like a 'savior' of Detroit. He got fairly stiffed by ol Matty Moroun on that 90 million purchase price. The Moroun family seemed content to just let it rot until some fool came along to buy it. They could afford not to sell and to wait for the right Fool. Enter Billy.

And I have to believe that the city gave him some tax breaks to fix up the abandoned buildings and make a 'park' appearance. Never mind all the pan handlers and dr-g houses and White Castle lol.

I say it's just more PR phoney baloney propaganda. Can't afford to make quality job 1, but can spend all sorts of money otherwise. Looking at the crowd in attendance - The sheeple are so easily fooled. Yeah . . . such a reverence and respect for books down in the D . . . Which books will be banned ? - Can you guess ?
