how did it ruin SRI
The PARC “donation” has now ruined SRI.
PARC is gone …. than you DunderHeads
No loss ..Xerox Management let it dwindle down to next to nothing ..Failure to recognize how valuable it was to Xerox future was a colossal boneheaded mistake.
PARC donated? They’ve been donating their technology for years.
The players that made PARC great are all long gone. Not sure what value PARC contributed to today’s Xerox other than name recognition for past innovations.
Talk about letting a corporate Jewel allowed to rust and wither away to nothing…for shame .
If there was gainful value, there would have been buyers for PARC. Opting for the Salvation Army is telling. Let it rip, the culmination of disgusting corporate leadership over the last 20ish years, especially since 2018
The giveaway aspect seems odd, but maybe there is a tax break or some sort of write-down due to SRI being a nonprofit. Hard to imagine there is no tangible value there - human capital, IP, labs, active contracts w DARPA/DOD/whatever, etc. SteveB has some 'splainin to do.
You have to ask why it was given away. Not sold, but GIVEN away.
Were we not able to monetize the research projects or patents? Hadn't both the previous and current CEOs been touting the advancements PARC had been making in new tech?
Was it too difficult to manage that sort of activity while trying to keep the mainline Xerox business afloat?
Seems odd to just give it away.....unless there really wasn't much value there to begin with.
Leasing company hasn't used our own balance sheet for 2 years now.
Billing has been outsourced for years already?
Ryder is already set to move into locations so outsourcing supply chain is next. Xerox signed with Lexmark years ago and has been product testing in field.
Sales goes to Lexmark (I think)?
Service will be its very own entity and pick up other manufacturers to service.
Supplies is an unknown.
The next shoe to drop?
- Leasing company sold?
- XBS sales organization sold?
- Service outsourced?
- Supplies/Supply Chain sold or outsourced?
- Billing outsourced? (Haven't we already sold our receivables?)
- We no longer have a manufacturing agreement with Fuji. Where will the new models come from?
Feels like something 'big' is in the works since they're making everyone sign an arbitration agreement. Expecting large-scale employee unrest in the future?
What next, XBS ?
An idea so brilliant it beyond human comprehension. Not one comment on LinkedIn yet. Baffled silence.
PARC finally free of the Toner Heads! Stay gold Ponyboy!
Disgraceful
Match made in Heaven I suppose.
Parc: Researched aerosol vaccine delivery system for bats.
SRI: Funded by the NIH to cut the vocal coards of 44 beagles for Fauci.
"The group’s investigations included documents obtained via Freedom of Information Act requests, as well as some publicly available reports detailing the experiments. The group also claimed that another procedure -- which the NIH allegedly funded to the tune of $1.8m -- saw 44 beagle puppies undergo a “cordectomy,” which saw their vocal cords cut to stop them barking. Reportedly, that experiment saw the dogs then pumped full of dr-gs, before being ki-led and dissected. Reportedly, this was at SRI International in Menlo Park, California."

The ground be shaking under Xerox
In true Independence Day style, the invaders are positioning their pieces for something.
LP gone, Mutual Arbitration Agreement, and just giving away PARC. Can you just donate your employees now? I would like to be donated to another company with a better plan.
A company about to implode?
SRI, the company that received a CIA grant to fund remote viewing experiments.
Who donates their million dollar government/DARPA funded research center?
Just another piece taken off the chessboard. Wonder which one will be next?
