Thread regarding CDW layoffs

This hastened my decision to intensify search for a new job.

It was a very unpleasant surprise to find out who from my team was affected… This is exactly what motivated me to look for a way out of here more actively now than ever... I guess I'm not the only one?

It never hurts to keep your resume updated and regularly look at what is out there. I look almost every day. I think the problem with moving on at this stage is that there may not be anywhere safer unless you land a government position. Tech is laying off people everywhere and spending on tech goods and services is declining. I don’t know what process was used by CDW management to determine who to lay off, but my thinking is that it is probably better to stick it out here due to the fact that if I do get laid off, my severance will likely be larger than if I moved elsewhere just to get laid off within a year.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Not saying im going to be actively looking, but will be updating my resume very soon. No way we hit projected numbers any quarter this year. The economy is tanking.

You aren’t the only one. Several on my team have discussed via phone calls outside of work.
