any news about agents that do not hit their vc for 2 months in a row getting shut down? This is what I've been told but trying to confirm if correct...

I’m looking at a leadership role in Direct. Can anyone comment on the senior leader of Direct and the culture?
Allstate 800 steals all the time.. when quoting I put in my own number just to see how long It takes the pajama agents to call…. I started along time ago putting in a fake number for customers and keeping prospects numbers on a legal tab to stop them from stealing business
I estimate that 90% or greater fail to stick beyond 6 months of the direct call center agents. Allstate spends a boatload of money on this program or did, with a total lack of understanding of how sales works. Any real sales job should take about 6 months to determine if a individual will work out. Direct agents (after the company spends money on training them to get their license ) are on probation their entire time working in the position. You have 4 weeks to hit a certain amount of quotes and then every month you have to hit your bonus or you are on probation for the next 4 weeks. most could not handle that.
Many of the low quality of direct sale policies has contributed to certian states now require 50% down for online and 800 sales.
I know it is hard to accept, but that piece of Transformative Growth is working as planned.
Business Objectives are about to get very very different starting in 2024.
Variable comp has nothing to do with losing your contract. If an agent misses Agency Business Objectives 7 times in 12 months they don’t belong in our business
Agents that miss 7 months out of a movng 12 month measurement will get a 90 day terminaton notice in the 8th month. There has been no indication that missing 2 months in a row puts them in any danger. Overall agents numbers are decreasing though - not necessarily to quotas being missed - but due to the realization what a s##t show Allstate has become and the limited future to the agency force.
What information is incorrect?
This thread contains so much incorrect information. Enough said.
it has just 8,400 agents that are contracted to sell Allstate auto and home insurance exclusively. That count is a significant drop from the 9,300 it had claimed a year ago, and 10,400 two years ago And 12000 in recent years. Trying to more direct route which is why it is 7% cheaper to buy direct than thru agent. Mismanagement. Ran encompass into the ground. No support. They will teach this in management classes at Wharton one day along with Anheuser-Busch Busch marketing case study.
Not once have they ever mentioned direct channel loss ratio. It is truly a slap in the face that built this company watching Wilson tear it down to save his own a. S. S
You can write a policy on a dog and they will approve it standard
I heard that it is quarterly. And this company is to the point where they don't care if the policies being written by direct are garbage or not as they are just looking to slowly eliminate the agency side of things. This company sees agents and the agency contract as a huge expense. They would rather have inferior policies than continue much longer with the costs of agents. There is no quality with Allstate anymore. Look at the vendors they are using. Foreigners with almost zero insurance knowledge and experience servicing customers and agents and soon to be handling Underwriting and claims adjusting all for around $5-7 and hour per head.
Plus they are rolling out the new auto product countrywide within the next few months anyways which is pretty much customer self sufficient, primarily online, and totally direct. Customers will have less options and need to deal with Allstate directly soon. And that is the way Big Blue wants it.
The business that is coming to Allstate Direct (Internet & Call Center) is absolute garbage. The direct channel has a high loss ratio. Moreover, the employees at direct are operating with reckless abandon. They are fudging insurance applications like no tomorrow.
The agency force has a quota system of having to write x amount of autos based on agency size. They can't miss that number more than 4 times in year. There is no quota yet for variable comp.
not yet - doubt things will get that drastic
