Anyone know more about this? Many interns got emails today telling them their start dates are pushed out a week from May 22 to May 30. Reason isn't given. PITA given travel plans already made, rents in Fremont area on leases already signe, etc. Of course interns won't complain about the added costs at risk of losing their positions, so they'll just have to eat it. But does anyone know why the dates were pushed? Is there a risk of internships being withdrawn altogether? :(

unsure why any interns would consider an industry dependent on the same customer set dependent on two companies that behave like they still matter
Expect more painful tactical moves as Seagate deals with revenue recession.
I would sincerely suggest the Interns to try some other companies…instead of getting onto a sinking ship
Looking at the calendar, this appears to be a wage savings move by avoiding memorial holiday payouts and reducing spending within a challenging financial quarter (e.g. one week of salary spending avoidance for interns, who are not labor expensive by design). How do you write "we are cost-constrained" to interns, your potential future employees? First impressions still matter. My teen is fustrated by this shift. This is another tactical pause by General Frosty's troops.
