Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Closed Branch Employees?

What will happen to closing branch employees? Over 100+ branches are closing end of May and they still haven't said what will their new assignment be? Will they get let go even though they keep saying frontline employees will be kept?

This is TERRIBLE advice. Sure, hang around until you get severance but in the meantime DO NOT WAIT TO START LOOKING FOR A JOB. Start now. Maybe you get lucky and you get severance and have a new job right after.

You are being laid off. You know it, just don't want to admit it. Sorry but it's the truth. You can wait though to prove my theory but it's obvious.

Folks it’s branch banking… in an industry that’s desperate to get rid of branches. If it’s mid April and you’re expecting to hear about next steps in May, please take this opportunity to brush up your resume and think about what you would like to do next. Do not wait until next month to have some “irons in the fire.”

Layoffs - - If you have been told your branch is closing, don’t panic, instead use the time to brush up your resume and apply for other jobs in your area. It can take several months to get another quality job. Use the time wisely.
