Every public organization is beholden to its shareholders. It’s the world we live in. Public organizations every single decision is measured by how much it will “cost” and ultimately (& always) generate revenue. Every.Single.Decision. At their core, with all of the incredible humans that pour their hearts & souls into making a difference, a positive, meaningful difference, while making a living, raising families, giving back, putting their heads down on a pillow at night, feeling good about their contribution(s), are a means to an end, to profit - entirely & unapologetically replaceable (aka disposable) by a lower paid human or technology, unreasonable expectations, or sacrifice of quality. I’ve personally changed my entire stock & investment portfolio to alternate investments outside of publicly traded organizations. I’ve just one voice. As a former (almost 20 years total) employee of UHC, I speak from the heart. There is life after UHC. But remember, no matter the organization, if it’s publicly traded, know that your “boss” will always be the almighty dollar.
To the “wall text spam” accuser- too much transparency to expose just how unethical and evil this org is?? Leadership never takes ownership always blamed on the worker bees..

Walker is an id--t and all the other big wigs that did this for a .26 stock jump. I hope it was worth it!!! Many of my close work friends had over 10 years on the job and were only given 10 weeks severance. Disgusting! And the offer was to keep the book so long as they agree to sell their souls and only receive 1/2 of the acquisition rate! Many are forced to take the deal because they strategically and illegally locked agents out of their book of business and blamed it on the system. They raised the goal for this Asian market to try to get them to quit and announced a spike in goal for the general market to try to have people leave. They were met with a petition for a class action suit causing little Denis the menace to retract the illegal act. After two weeks UHC breaks the Amit retaliation law and fired the evil ISR Channel. Leadership is so weak and they should be ashamed of themselves. We lost real leaders who cared in the last year.

My husband was let go today. Along with 5 others in Ohio. Teams call. Been there 8 years.
LOB mostly medical and roles that Optum can do. Optum mostly has UHG by the ba--s for some reason. Also, because they were supposed to slow down on hiring last September but didn't. Now it's UHG ogs taking heat.
A rumor became reality today when I got laid off over a Teams call. Eight years of loyalty to this company, all for it to end this way. A whole department wiped out without prior knowledge. I really hope the blow back from the market is HUGE. They don’t deserve us!!!
Let the bloodbath begin. Steve Warner and Irma are re--rds for not knowing the damage they’re doing. I can’t speak for all markets but the friends I have in the rio grande valley that do this line of work, loyalty is literally everything. Humana is about to get a BIIiIiG bump. Hope that $0.25 jump in stock price was worth it. Id--ts.
Got word today that there are layoffs happening in field management for M&R.
Yes. Layoffs in the coming weeks. There will be a program for favorites 3+ performance where they help you get into a new role temporarily. Also won't need experience.
