I see other companies buying them before Verizon.
Starlink is not a viable option for secure communication needed for 21st Century economy. Russian Military easily and quickly dismantled Starlink via EC in Ukraine.
The world has changed a lot in 12 years. There are other options now. Think starlink.
We will see a DOJ approval for AT&T to combine with anyone that can keep the bits and bytes moving,
Never happening. There’s this little thing called the DOJ, and antitrust laws.
It’s amazing how uninformed most people are.
This will not happen. There is a reason why AT&T was not allowed to buy T-Mo.
nice try...Verizon or tmo troll has entered the chat
Vz ain't buying squat, they are in the beginning or their own restructuring turmoil, restructuring -laying off and outsourcing customer service, tech support and both network and sales engineers. getting ready to consolidate and restructure -layoff sales orgs, and position retail stores to dealer agents Verizon also carries a hefty debt load
It would be poetic justice if T-Mobile takes over at a cost of $5Billion
Fed will step in if needed. AT&T is critical infrastructure and too critical to US and Global economy to fail. Fed will most likely arrange sale of AT&T to Verizon or other US telecom with a healthy dose of low interest loans and Tax credits to eliminate AT&T debt.
In my humble opinion, it would be cheaper for Fed to buy AT&T $150B debt, wrap with Treasury Bonds and utilize AT&T monthly revenue stream to create a new AT&T corporate long bond. Win win for all.
Put a dollar amount that you think it will cost. Include the debt as well.
Verizon is busted a-s broke. In debt $150B, combined with at&t's debt equals $285B. Not likely to happen anytime soon.
Multiple buyers, cox, Windstream, and others will buy at low prices
To break up a monopoly.
Once a tech CEO takes over its adios to all the SBC inbreds. Maybe the new corporate name will be…SBT. So do mized By Techies. 😮
Amazon is dangerously close to getting broken up as it is.
Yeah, the feds will block it. Now I can see, maybe Amazon? Heck, maybe even Ellon Musk? But in that case, man, the layoffs we're all used to will look like child's play. He'll keep like 50 people (plus the people in the field of course, you guys are fine), and it will probably run better than it is now.
Divestiture was another classic case of useless government intervention. It was practically pointless before it was even begun.
And what was the point of divestiture back in ‘84?
