Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Long term prediction

The current situation is parallel to the leadership of C. Michael Armstrong. AT&T will be sold or taken over for a second time. Only the brand will remain. Leadership will be purged. Stankey will walk away with hundreds of millions of dollars.

The name is toxic at this point. Better off taking another name at this point

People, not a chance that any self respecting company with a well managed balance sheet would touch AT&T for any price! There's just too much bad Bell management in place and T is just too far in debt for the likes of any major corporation to want!

"But the brand has no value because it is associated with being old, stodgy and bureaucratic"

We once had a hip brand. Cingular Wireless. Many of us facepalmed learning we were assimilating to the old and stodgy 16 years ago.

I agree it might be sold or taken over. But the brand has no value because it is associated with being old, stodgy and bureaucratic. They want a "fresh new brand" that is agile and innovative. The only value is in the network assets.
