Yes, that's right, why can't employees accept that at&t is in real trouble. Looking more and more like bankruptcy is inevitable. All of these short term gimmicks will do nothing to change course. Don't bother uprooting your life to move to a hub, you will regret it if you do. I'm not sure how this will all end but I don't envision Verizon can help as they are $150B in debt. Stankey needs to be sure and save enough to reward himself at the end to make sure he and his extended family have enough money to last them their lifetimes.

I thought AT&T is in good shape. I'd worry about Verizon actually.
I remember the CFO a few years back - last name stephens?
saying oh yea I have a plan to pay of the debt
that was two cfo's ago
World leading? Really?
T is in last place in the US alone.
The debt is nothing in comparison to the revenue AT&T generates. AT&T will continue to be the worlds leading telecommunications company for the near medium and long term future. Plus now inflation is here we can use government assistance in the disguise of grants to pay it off.
It will be broken into smaller pieces and parted out to companies like cox, Windstream and others, some ilec may pick up some of the junk ols bell wireless to expand and use broadband gov money to provide undeserved markets. These company's want and can take pieces
Please don't try to deny it, T will be in Chapter 11 soon. Stankey stood a chance at saving T from bankruptcy before the successive interest rate hikes. With debt at $135B, he doesn't stand a chance. Hubs or no hubs it's curtains for at&t!
They need to show 16 billion in FCF for 2023 -- so far they have only come up with 1 billion in the first quarter. If FCF tanks, there is no choice but to cut dividend and most holders of T stock have it for the dividend. A cut would be very bad for the stock price and spiral will continue.
if he cuts the dividend, the stock will be in the single digits shortly thereafter and then bankruptcy..
AT&T stock will soon be shorted to its knees by the market. It's a walking dead stock.
AT&T = A burning dumpster fire
Lack of better options.
