I along with 50 other people were axed Thursday in the reporting group. Very secretive with 0 warnings. Beware This company restructures every 6 to 12 months. Very disruptive. I can't imagine these disruption helping the company in the long term

It doesn't help the company in the long run, but in the short run the executives meet their quarterly numbers which facilitates their massive stock gifts/options. For giggles look at the insider transactions which are pu--c info. Ever notice the c suite is never replaced with offshore or H1Bs? This company is pure trash. They talk a good game about the "values" of this company but the only value this place has is $$. They will chew you up and sp-t you out if you let them.
"I was RIFd in 2021 on a Thur with many others. The position was eliminated. All white male directors over 50 got the axe that day. Of course months later they reopen the role and hire a young female. S-xism. Ageism. But they’re saving humanity right?"
I found written proof of this sort of action for Anthem.
This is answered by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg:
"I don't think you want a management structure that's just managers managing managers, managing managers, managing managers, managing the people who are doing the work," Zuckerberg reportedly said during an internal Q&A session in late January, according to Command Line.
My group does not have enough work for everyone. We are "sharing" projects, and we are still hiring.
We are still hiring many positions.
How could they have RIF and have openings at the same time?
More RIFs coming Thursday June 15th and ever 2 weeks for the next 2 months! Clean up your resume, connect on LinkedIn and start looking or enjoy your summer a bit.

I am baffled regarding how management at this company determines who to rif and who to keep. The decisions do not appear to be made by first level management. Is it based on system activity tracking, salary and grandfathered benefits, age, who you know or don't know, drawing names out of a hat?
"evil-ance" HA HA HA Nailed It!
To @4iii+1mXXxGzd: Being promoted typically comes with a promotional increase, therefore placing a larger target on your back. Money is all that matters to this company.
They couldn’t let me go on Thursday as I was on vacation so Monday morning I got word that I was being let go even though I was recently promoted.
I work on a team that RIF’d 3 case managers but they are hiring 4 more. How is this legal?
In evil-ance land, they are the same thing.
For those that do not know, RIF stands for reduction in force.
Some companies I have been at there were differences. In the end it is still the same, someone is leaving a job not by their choice.
I also know that some states require "press/public statements" if the number of people cut is at or over a certain amount.
My previous coworker said his whole team was let go last week. Feel really sad for them.
What’s the difference between RIF and layoff. I thought it was the same thing.
As stated previously, layoffs almost always occur on a Thursday. That has been going on for 20+ years. In the last 12? years the layoffs almost always occur on a Thursday on the weeks without a paycheck. True firings - meaning terminated for cause, not layoff/RIFs, can and do occur anytime.
I suspect we will have layoffs through the Summer.
Why are they laying off? Will there be more this week ?
