Thank goodness, i have completely finished with Intel after 2 tours of duty , the last one being awful as a G11 and I had the absolute displeasure of being in his company several times . Basically he wants to be Andy Grove , he actually thinks he more or less is Andy Grove. and he totally isn’t - if he was he would understand the MEGA inflection point that the s/c market has completely and utterly changed since his last spin . I was asked to come back as one of the bleed blue Intel guys , I was so thrilled to go back , similar to him actually as Intel gets in you ….after 3 months I realised the culture of the company had utterly changed . It’s a sh1t show and it’s dying. PG want to be AG for 2 more years and he’s gone …. as might be Intel.
@1wva - So far he's at least as bad as BK and MR, can end up being worse depending on what happens during the next year or two.

Intel's management doesn't know what people actually do. Even for leaders with technical background, they tend to fade in their expertise and become announcers, haranguers, clowns and trash talkers. This is by design, in order to protect Intel's core intellectual property. Things were done through power, not through expertise or innovation.
PG is definitely a trash talker. A man floating on top, surrounded by DEI, ordering around a bunch of equally or more clueless people, is unlikely to be a savior.
Mag Whitman, perhaps is a better choice. She knows something.

Nvidia invested for a decade on something that was obscure and irrelevant and now the biggest thing.
AMD pivoted and decided on a different angle to compete and it was lucky intel thru arrogance, incompetence, and miss execution was handed an opportunity. AMD opportunity is a lot like Intel when IBM picked them, but they ran successfully with the opportunity while Intel FUBARed it for the last decade.
Now will Pat return Intel to greatness with IDM / IFS, no fu€king way. Unless TSMC has leaders like BK, Sohail, Kaizad, Peng and company not going to happen. Of course Xi and Putin could go postal and change the things
