Corning to Pay $120,000 to Settle EEOC S-x Discrimination Case
Agreement Settles Charges Company Groomed Male Employees for Advancement, Repeatedly Passing Over Women
NEW YORK – Corning Incorporated will pay $120,000 and furnish other relief to settle a s-x discrimination lawsuit brought by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency announced today.
A Big Slap to Corning and it was needed as well..
Corning discriminates against women at all levels regardless of children. While there are programs to support and improve diversity throughout the organize, I’ve consistently seen smart, capable women undermined and driven out of the organization in droves. If you aren’t a man, do not dare speak up.
I do not doubt this happens all the time. I have been discriminated against in MT&E for having being pregnant, “the likelihood that I would be further growing my family and concerns about my ability to lift 50+ lbs.”
I have been discriminated and let go because of my association with an individual with disability. I was denied accommodation that other peoples with similar backgrounds were getting. Let's connect and see if we can take any legal action. Corning really sucks!!
The only discrimination is against hard working people who do not meet their DEI diversity criteria.
Most of the gender discrimination that I see is targeted at white men. Being a white male definitely reduces a persons upward mobility at Corning (or any other "progressive" company for that matter).
Haven't heard of specific pregnancy discrimination recently but have little doubt - have seen plenty of gender discrimination throughout the Valley, and pregnancy bias is very common in general.
