Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Product manager

I am interviewing for a product manager position level 2 at oracle (internally). What interview questions can I expect and what job salary range from ca or co. I’m going from ic3 to an ic2 possibly so not sure if that’s the right move ( not in product right now) thanks!

I hope you land the position. Your current team has already nominated you for RIF.

That the OP feels compelled to ask these questions shows just how totally scr*wed he is.

Because step down allows me for future growth within that department. What are the salary ranges for IC2 and IC3 product managers?

What is means to accept the step down is that when it comes to a raise next time, they will tell you that you are on the high end for salary for IC2, so you don't get a raise. Was done to me long ago at another company. If you are not promoted, then you cannot get a raise because you are at the high end for the level you are on. They are making sure they can justify not giving you a raise next time.

I had agreed to a position then when everything went through, the offer was for IC2 but I was an IC3. The hiring manager said take it or leave it so I took it. There was a $15K raise involved.
However it got on my nerves every time I thought about it. In my next move I got the IC3 back.

This is wrong. If you are an IC3 and they are telling you a position is only available as an IC2, what they are trying to do is discourage you from taking the position. Most roles at Oracle, if you are making an internal transfer will also be ok with the level you are at. Especially an IC3 or IC2. Get HR involved and have them adjust the requistion to match your current level. Its an easy thing to do. The salary ranges are too close as an IC3/2 to really give Oracle much of a hickup. My guess is they have someone in mind for the position and its not you, so they are playing games.

Check out your total compensation will be for this ‘promotion’?

Why are you accepting a step down in IC?
