Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Remember when this was a fun place to work?

I'm a little nostalgic, although I know that I shouldn't be dwelling on the past too much, but look for a new job more intensively. Golden years will not return.

Nobody up top gives a sh-t about you and no matter how succesful the sales are you will see no increase from it. If you are a low level team member just leave and find any other job it will probably pay you more. I see why the long term people stay but any new blood should GTFO as soon as they are able. Leadersh!t at WFM coperate are a bunch of liars pushing hokey concepts that the only people at store level that even pretend to belive are store leadership.

To many regional Presidents wasting resources that should have gone to labor. You can’t keep a good database without the labor.

There is no fun to be had anymore if any of the long terms\lifers feel upset about the below comment get over it. It's a job for young people until they transition over into a real job outside of the retail industry. If you get fired up about working at the grocery store and the "important" work you do for WFM you are a clown.

You make your own fun do enough to not get fired. Fool around smoke some weed have a few drinks on the clock and hang out with somebody fun in the store.

If WFM never made money it would not have lasted 30 plus years so that is just not true. There were lots of employees so the work was shared fairly. It didn't matter if there were slackers because you had enough workers to ignore them. Now the labor is so thin that it stands out. Unfortunately there are way to many TL's scared to discipline. That is part of the job so DO IT!! Some people enjoy doing physical work just not ALL of it. It once WAS a great place to work. There was very little pressure, no stress, lots of help, gain sharing, very good health care, low deductible, pay was not bad for not having a degree, lots of training on the products we sold and customers loved us. Now we are no better than Walmart.

i think you all just miss being young and regretting all the time you wasted at WF TBH. this is retail, so if your OK not learning anything or making any money while being stressed out, then yes its fun. for anyone with actual goals then this place is a graveyard where hard work goes to die. the 'good old days' the lifers talk about never existed because this company NEVER MADE MONEY . it was run by amatuers with big dreams that failed in every aspect of running a business.
