Our leadership uses economic downturn as an excuse for all the bad things happening in the company.
Do you think the situation at Dell would have been any better if the economic crisis had not happened?

A pure shithole. Dell He-l
Dell is grossly mismanaged. They need to get C suite and upper management. They are so busy marking their territory, they don’t have time to lead.
Corporate Capitalism. The rich need to sc--w the poor to ensure inifinite revenue increases for their companies to increase their wealth.
No one mentioned the huge reduction in corporate taxes that they got from the tRump tax cuts that were supposed to be used for among things like retaining jobs and wage increases. Not at Dell - buy stock and pay on debt.
It is all about hitting numbers quarter to quarter. If sales were up then no, there would not be layoffs at as high a scale as if sales are down. It is the problem of the Corporate Free Market. If you expect a company to consistently increase revenue every quarter to infinity at some point you are going to be disappointed and then the stock tumbles.
All of the comments below are correct but also "so what". Write them another way
Dell during the pandemic made hay whilst the sun shone AND liquidated the massive amount of costs they had in expenses and buildings, saving a shedload of jobs and keeping the machine going even when targets were not being hit.
Now they are out of that they are re-inventing again to ensure they can spin the plates and have a direction into 2025 that is relevant.
@bmp+1mRaWPV2 Stating Dell bo-m years during Pandemic… and while this was happening they were cutting jobs all over the company. Our division had over 150 positions in one restructure. This was at the height of work and orders coming in. Only thing that matters at Dell is how much does it cost and what can be done to reduce it. Sadly it is usually peoples jobs to quickly lower the cost and make each quarter appear better on the books.
No. Dell is trying to find a transformation out of ISG and using the profits from ISG to float the company until it decides what’s next (most likely AI, but could be Edge + AI) This is planned and all attrition is expected and encouraged. No other major hardware company talks up a downturn this much. It’s a Dell thing
no. they had bo-m years during pandemic.
what did they do? took all buildings, land, and equipment and liquitadated
all the while their people were giving them free office space
