this new woke so-called leadership are way way way out of their depth. Look at their short LinkedIn profiles - None has experience of rescuing a failing Company that is overwhelmed by its debt. Chapter 11 is the only sensible course of action here and despite this inept leadership team saying "oh no we are fine, we just need to execute the north star" it is the Bondholders who will decide when (not if) we go Chapter 11

We are talking about a shell company that has "mergered" itself into oblivion through debt absorption and countless missteps on failure to implement their visions. Not only are we 10 years late to every move we have made during this transformation journey (8 yrs recent that is), we couldn't even keep the customers we had happy, much less prospecting new ones (non-government). Now we get to go on a new transformation journey with a CEO that literally stepped away from the corporate world due to, let's just call it mental fatigue. Excuse me for my cynicism toward anything positive going forward! Does not take a genius to see the red flags or know what you have to work with once you get here. Dream on people for the hope you are all looking for!

Lumen isn't a technology company no matter how the SLT wishes or how hard they clap.
But if you read behind the short term headline position, the SLT doesn't have tech experience either. They are buzzing bees flitting from flower to flower without developing actual competence.
Why would they hire telecom executives? Lumen is changing over to a technology firm and needs leadership with that experience.
They're more underwhelming than the last batch, which is saying something.

For those of us that call telecommunications a career for over 38 years, we do not find the resumes of the new regime attractive. 4-5 years here and there with no knowledge of telecom will not save this company. I’m always suspicious of those people because they were hired at other companies just to cut the work force, start a bunch of new useless catch phrases and move on. Can’t blame them because then they’re gone on to another over paid position to wreck another company.
Even the marketing and the f ing name changes this company keeps doing is a joke. Lumen is associated with light output. Yes fiber is light, but would you really ask SALES how many lumens does your fiber put out? Lumen is also a metabolism device you puff like a vape. Then there's Northstar, where Inside Link shows the night sky with stars /constellation. How does the image of the galaxy relate to fiber or telephony? I guess the marketing strategy is throw up some abstract imagery and confuse the investor or customer. FiberOne... now that company has a great name. We could have named ourselves SpanFiber, Providing solid fiber connections across the USA to your home or business. Show images of people using the fiber on computers, alarm systems, PS5, Xbox etc. Instead of this "field of dreams" idea, if you build it, they will come. Really? Like zombies or moths to a light bulb? Heck PRISM had an advertising truck that would go to events to show off the TV features.
The "North Star" is going to become a black hole, it will completely bypass the super nova and the white dwarf stage and go directly to a black hole.
