Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Stop and think about it before you leave

Several people I work with are all, "I'm done with this place, I'm leaving!" They don't have any backup plans or jobs waiting for them. They're just fed up with DXC. Now, I get it, there might be better jobs out there, but why would you put yourself through the stress of losing money when it's way smarter to plan your exit before you leave? What am I missing?

In case you have after all those years at DXC no backup plan or haven't look at other jobs, than xou migjt be right with a company that gives no payrises.
70k+ have been layed off, and still you act like you are invincible or invisible?
That makes me wonder.

Get your CV out there, you might be pleasantly surprised. I left last year after 5+ years of no pay rises. Salvino and his cronies are disgusting. I couldn’t work for that lot anymore. When I left I got a 30% payrise. My only regret was that I waited so long before leaving. The only upside at DXC was WFH nearly 100% of the time.

Plan your exit by all means. But that means that you have to start planning it, and implement the plans. Staying at DXC is totally soul-destroying for most people.

I left after two years. I had a 90-day notice period, and tried 4 times to get voluntary WFR.

So I planned very carefully. I secured a bunch of interviews when I was expecting the next round of WFR, did not apply for voluntary WFR when offered, and got laid off. 90 days plus a few weeks pay in my pocket, and had a new job lined up 3 weeks later.

Result: I left the most toxic employer I'd ever worked for, took a 23% pay increase, and moved to a company where I actually did less work, was more appreciated, and had much lower stress (although it did take me 6 months to realise I wasn't going to be threatened with WFR again).

I've since moved on again, for another 17% raise, but now I work much harder - however, the career development path with my new employer is amazing and comes with big jumps in pay each time you get promoted.

So, there are some great employers out there.

But, what if you've just had enough. Well, assuming you're in the UK the Freelance market is going strong at the moment. So, you just put your notice in and go freelance. More money, less stress, and you're out. What are you waiting for??

You're missing the fact that there is much more to life than just "money". Don't be a prisoner to it. DXC is a bust. DXC is actually WORSE than a TEMP JOB. Use it, then lose it and move on... DXC is not going to grow....ever...not under this (mis)management. "Fly like a bird" as the song goes...
