90% of laid-off H1-B visa holders were able to find new work against all odds. Here’s what the data tells us about America’s complicated relationship with foreign-born talent

I am a plain vanilla working at intc, portland.

In my observation of the homeless here, there seems to be mainly 2 different flavors : vanilla and chocolate.

Curry monkeys are all well off tech bros, nacho monkeys are pretty hard working and occupy the lower economic tier of mechanic, welders, cleaners etc. ( and some I assume are doing criminal activities, but I have no insight into that).

So to summarize, I see zero brownies with tents. Entitled, dr-g addled vanilla mostly ( since it's portland) and some chocolate have stolen so much from downtown REI that they had to shutter their doors! So the comment about American citities being uninhabitable is definitely true, root cause is pointing in a different direction though.

"H1b talented or not talented is cheaper than American worker"
farm animals are cheaper than an american worker
maybe should we should also import some of them

" work will find cheaper countries"
that's great, please move your company there and try and compete
with your vast knowledge - you were doing so great before

H1b talented or not talented is cheaper than American worker, if you cant find cheaper worker the work will find cheaper countries. Besides these company owners and policy maker are all American. So instead of whinning and looking down on your brownie colleague look at mirror , Its no brainer .

do the writers of that article have integrity
do the people who pay for those writers (the owners of that rag have integrity)
if not, then we cannot proceed further with it

please list what technology, science, and math those countries invented that we steal
i believe the relationship is parasitical
also it looks like the US is in decline with all these "bright" people coming over
some cities are uninhabitable now and our major institutions appear to be rotting

On a related issue here is an article that reports how lobbyists and leftist in Congress are already trying to pry away American jobs of the CHIPS Act to broaden H1-B. What an absolute disgrace.
