I'm praying to be laid off, just so I can cost Honeywell money when the company decides it's my time to go. And with nearly two decades here under my belt and more than decent pay, I'm well aware that my time is coming and it's probably coming soon. I'd leave on my own, but as I said, I don't want to do them any favors.

So true, I was shocked going to China to see just how much better their offices, facilities and equipment were. The Shanghai marketing office made Honeywell look like a proper global company, I wanted to move there!
Most US sites are sad, brown, 70's/80's rundown sh1tholes. Even spending time in HQ at Charlotte which in reality is just a few rented floors you can quickly see the veneer peeling away, it starting to feel dated already. Pretty sure VK will eliminate the perks there too. See the future peeps, it definitely ain't the US.
"I’ve lost all respect for the company" ???
So you are saying , at one time, in the history on mankind YOU HAD RESPECT for this toxic place?
WTFU !
This place NEVER cared about YOU or anyone else. It is THE BENCHMARK of the most toxic, mis-managed, woke, intolerant and discriminatory corporation to have EVER existed!
Just to be clear
HON Senior Leadership deserves NO RESPECT
HON Presidents and VP's deserves NO RESPECT
HON Directors deserves NO RESPECT
HON First and Second level "managers" deserves NO RESPECT
HON "Team Lead" (aka boss's vacuum pullers) deserves NO RESPECT
None of them, zip, nothing, nada, "Deserve any respect"
Any never forget, these "Team Leads", and First and Second level managers are THE ERRAND BOYS for those on top, implementing the mandates, lies and corruption...THEY are the ones pushing you into the showers and THEY are the ones dropping the Zyklon B into the room, let there be NO DOUBT. THEY are not your friend, THEY are the hand of the enemy.
Good strategy. I did the same. They had to pay so much money that I can now live very comfortably.
Found an alternative job almost immediately at equal pay.
Some people I miss, but the hellhole honeywell has become I haven't missed for a second.
And when you leave, remember you have two full years of UNEMPLOYMENT, Just file online with the Department of Economic Security, circa $240 a week, online job search weekly, funds come every Tuesday by noon, easy money for doing nothing, and the absolute best part of it, IT HURTS HONEYWELL, as they pay unemployment "insurance" for 5 full years, when you apply. People that only know what they read on the internet, will say, "They will decline DES claims", WRONG : "That is is hard to do", WRONG : "That you can not work anywhere else during that time" : WRONG : "that it is only for a year", WRONG, apply again, and they extend" The hacks on this site that poopoo applying for Unemployment, are HR hacks and F-palace managers, trying to protect their scam.
When it's your time to go, you'll know it.....
Many of the hires of today are lemmings and bootlockers, just along for the ride, with no real interest in the technology. Hoping to hitch a quick ride up by trashing their colleagues and currying favor with the garbage in management.
HON will get stronger in body odor. That’s a sure bet. Even JW smells like sour armpits and broken dream.
@hke+1mMnh6K8, I'll wager you're the sucking noise in every group function.
Post ID: @hke+1mMnh6K8 Oh dear, you must be new to Honeywell or have we got VK on the phone hahaha. If you are new I give you only a few months until it sinks in that Honeywell leadership is the definition of parasite. Good luck :)
Bunch of parasites. HON will only get stronger.
Ditto the OP and all replies. I've been praying for a layoff, voluntary or otherwise, for a couple of years now. I'm sick of the self congratulating executives while most things are going down the tubes. I don't trust our management nor much else these days.
Same here, two decades under my belt. There are very few of us left who know what we're doing and I am getting continually pressured to do more and more work which is affecting my personal life and health. I am well compensated, but this is ridiculous. Nowhere near normal retirement age but saving like crazy for an early retirement. I would take the 6 months severance at this point with a smile!
I like your plan original poster....and I lived it. Volunteered for the May 2020 covid layoff. Left with my 401k, 6 months severance, unemployment ins + the bonus the feds were adding for covid relief. The severance & unemployment ins dropped about $50K into my wallet. I don't know, but I hope the Big H had to spring for the Unemployment ins checks too. BTW, I was going to retire 6 months later anyways (at age 62).
It's easier to make a lateral move in terms of salary if you are offered a job while you have a job. Keep that in mind. Loss of salary can have a negative impact on your long term wage goals. But if you are close to retirement milking them is the best thing to do.
Same. I feel like a plaything for narcissistic leadership to torture at this point. Decades in the company and this is how they show their appreciation for making them rich. No respect shown AT ALL for experience or industry knowledge. New roles are filled with unqualified buddies of the narcissistic leadership.
