i'd rather get the pay then flat out quit. I would not hire you for fear you would quit on me as well.
always better to quit than being caught in layoff, unless you have something lined up and hoping to get a package as well. But sometimes, just need that push to seek new opportunities.
doubt he left without a guarantee.. so missing out on severance not so relevant. also gets the future currency of having 'quit' MS as opposed to getting laid off... good move.
Leaving with dignity is more important
By quiting tpu didnt get severance plus ypi coulda slacked and banked a few more paychecks so not sure you did good...
