I’m surprised Seagate kept their DNA storage research group in Seagate research. A Total waste of money in my opinion. Anyone know why that group was not eliminated?

There is like 3 people working on DNA and a wet lab at the U.
HAMR + DNA. They should name it VAX storage.
They might try to sell it like they did with LiDAR. That team remained un-touched during the November layoffs and was sold in January.
Seagate Research seems pretty much unaffected by this lay off.
DNA = dividend now available. Leadership does not want to cut dividend.
This is "the next big thing" to sell investors on after HAMR fails. Got to keep hope alive.
