Do I hear Apollo calling with a new offer?

Shhhhh. Yes, I think I do.

Yes. He’s part of the DEI initiative for elderly people of color.

Pearson cannot accept a different offer now that they are in with Regent, correct?

@3flq+1mLf81nJ Can you believe we used to sit in meetings and here executive after executive, say with a straight face that ridiculously overpriced textbooks were a good "value." I mean, come on.

Or "students spend money on beer and cell phones and shoes. They can afford text books or course materials."

No sh*t Sherlock. But its not about that. Its forcing people to buy something they don't want. Simple human behavior.

It does tick me off that those people are almost all retired, quite fabulously now. Heck, one former publishing CEO sits on a board. Are you kidding me?

"Stunning departure from ever executive I've heard from."
Because executives are always truthful.

"AI" is complete garbage. It's just another scam by Silicon Valley. It's the latest scam by VCs and media outlets who brought us Theranos, FTX, and VR headsets.

If you're impressed by ChatGPT, you might be the type who sends money to Nigerian Princes, invests in Crypto at a peak, or who thinks buying a $100,000 electric car is going to save the planet. Or you think $300 textbooks are a good idea.

Has anybody called Pearson People Services lately? That chick answering the phone sounds like she has a bunch of marbles in her mouth. Maybe Pearson could get some "AI" that speaks the King's English properly.

I seriously can’t wait to hear the spin from the people at the top of how AI will transform Pearson.

You can ask chat GPT pretty much anything and get a decent answer. It will only get better.

Remember 20 years ago when all the muckety mucks were saying Wikipedia wasn’t a true reference? How did that work out?

Studies concluded it was MORE accurate than authored reference content.

The biz was fun for a long time. It wasn’t real. But wow was it fun.

Stay in school and use your brain. Be a doctor, be a lawyer, carry a leather briefcase, not a iPad filled with nonsense. Forget about higher ed sales as a profession. MyLabs makes ya grunt and smell. See, be a thinker, not a stinker.

Why in the world would Pearson be more valuable due to AI?

It would have to be substantially better than last time. Sure if it’s good enough anything can happen but that would be a stunning departure from every executive I’ve heard from; formally or otherwise.

Issues aside (and there still are many big problems) the revenue opportunity that is here and will grow in the learning market is far too lucrative to turn away from.

Apollo only had to wait 6 months to make another offer which they can now do.

Thats not far off. Maybe thats the rush for this AI effort for BTS. Nut then Pearson regularly f***s up these targets.
