Anyone here has experience working in 2 or all of these companies and can share ? Is it a lot less bs than CVX? Which one is more about business rather than social engineering?

Pretty much the same atmosphere with all large publics. If you want something different and more business you gotta find a smaller private equity backed company.
Pioneer is excellent, COP average and CVX horrifying, speaking in terms of social nonsense versus engineering.
that's such an ignorant statement. there are former pioneer people who currently work at chevron. and probably because of chevron's size compared to pioneer, there are more of those people than former chevron who work at pioneer.
Pioneer is no-nonsense. If you're good, you will take on more responsibility and enjoy more promotions. Training is on the job, and you either sink or swim. CoP is like a smaller version of Chevron - lots of office politics and wasteful initiatives. Just look at the movement of people - no one from Pioneer wants to work for Chevron, but the (few) good at Chevron are valued at Pioneer. CoP people would love to blend into the woodwork at Chevron and continue to collect their paychecks.
