Belk Sherman Texas outlet are not opening in NEW outletlocations, converting an existing Belk store to an Outlet is NOT opening a NEW store, it’s downgrading a current store. So Belk should stop referring to these as “grand openings” ….they’re not….
belk is telling managers to use the line “we are getting a better assortment, brands we never carried before, so this is a big win for the community..” well, how is getting merchandise that didn’t sell in other stores, giving it a price increase, then marking it down an additional 10% and making it final sale a big win for the community? It’s not…..
Belk outlet locations are laying off cosmetics associates and select other associates. Where are these associates going to go?

News stories about these outlets read like press releases by Belk. They are just downgrading stores in C markets to dump stores. Next step will be closing the stores or dozens more stores also converting just before whole chain liquidates. Dillards has done this for years with stores they are closing.
the store will have a few racks of free people, calvin klein, and rows and rows of wonderly, kim rogers, and crown and ivy. a 45.00 pair of leggings is 15.99 which is the same as a regular belk store.
When has belk ever been concerned with the associates well being? Not since i"ve worked there. And yes I know I can quit.
