Thread regarding USAA layoffs

ECIO Townhall Trainwreck

" Very thoughful questions " which we are not really going to answer. We will continue to be as vague and distant as we can be while making you believe that we care one bit about a single one of you, your exceptions, or concerns.

I heard she is the main leader who pushed back at Wayne. This is all Wayne and Neeraj. She lost her battle.

It seems like ECIO Eagle Days was a way for them to figure out who they’d be keeping and who they’d be letting go. Those who kissed Amala and/or her Cheerleader’s a-s got to stay.

One clear message was given that there is zero looking at the potential for voluntary departures for severance or consideration of early retirement packages. Anyone holding out for either of those is dreaming. There is no way they could do that without a tsunami from both the resource losses and expenses it would incur. I think that tsunami will still come in March of next year after end of year bonus payouts. They will start trying to offer retention bonuses but it’ll be too late. I know I won’t accept one. Countdown is on.

Amala was likely hired to do this exact thing. She is the queen of layoffs and outsourcing. Go look at what she did in her previous role at Regions.

She says that 97% of ECIO are within the 30 mile commuting distance to nearest hub. No way will she expect 97% of ECIO to RTO because of facility limitation, not unless some of these 97% quit on their own, wink. And she's saying out loud, she's not forcing attrition.

Amala's being forced to comply with RTO requirements from Wayne. She shielded us a long time but eventually lost the battle. She's not happy about this at all, but she has a boss to report to as well. She's not going to give up a 7 figure salary because people don't want to RTO, especially when she has to be in office 4 days a week.

I'm not a fan of Amala, but I don't dislike her. She's in an unwinnable position.

People need to understand that RTO is happening no matter what, and it was Wayne's decision.

She was clearly on "defense mode" and trying to "fact check", truth vs opinion/myth. She started with saying "let's all be professional" and has she inspired this in the previous months or not. Lots of mockery in Slack today from shoes to contradictory statements she just made. I couldn't count the number of sighs she made when answering questions and I felt the extreme frustration she has. Many times she turned to him asking for name pronounciations. Her lips were tight most times and she looked stiff. Of course these could all be facade of what's the real truth and all these are just my opinion. I know she tried her best to try to reposition herself but at the end of the day, I will be asking myself, do I still trust her and the new USAA?

So... Was the end of that meeting with her " crying comments " supposed to make us feel sorry for her? Shes taken raises, hired external cronies, laidoff thousands, and plans work what remain harder with no new headcount for 3 years with reduced 3P support... WTF.

ECIO exception guidance was delayed for weeks only for Amala to say "submit your exceptions and then we'll decide what we approve and don't". What a waste of time. Extremely disappointed.
