Staying here and working twice as hard as before while the company refuses to fill any of the many open positions and not being rewarded for it with a proper raise or bonus is worse. If you are laid off, you can get a normal job while you have some money to keep you afloat during your search. At least you get a new start. That's gotta be better than this.

I am part of a recently acquired company who welcomed CDW culture over the acquired companies culture which was not inclusive and had power cliques. Sadly they did not cut existing bully middle management of acquired company who bamboozled CDW into thinking the clique style embraced every coworker. I will seek other employment since I don't feel psychologically safe. They won't realize the toxic culture until its too late.
People just got laid off and had to tell their families that the next few months is going to be tough. The IT industry is laying off people left and right. Here's a novel concept: be grateful to have a job, ya dope.
All I can say is - keep your head up. It’s rough out there - not just at CDW. For my particular area of expertise, job postings have dropped significantly over the past year and it’s one of the current hot areas in technology. We don’t know how the economy is going to shape up the rest of the year for sure, and I haven’t heard anything about our own Q2 numbers yet to know if more layoffs are coming. Even if you can land something now, it may be risky to move if the economy doesn’t recover this year and you may be laid off at a low seniority level. I’m certainly no fan of the senior management here, but I can’t pretend that they’ve done anything that many other tech executives haven’t already done multiple times over the last year.
It is crystal clear that they don’t care about any of us. They don’t care about the customers. They don’t care about partners. Whatever maximizes profit, they will do. We lay people off and increase the dividend, continue to buy back stock and give themselves bigger and bigger bonuses. The holiday bonuses that are going away and their bonuses grow. They are so out of touch, it’s sickening. They really should be ashamed of themselves. I hope karma kicks em in the a-s.
im begging to be laid off at this point. seeing several of my team members go has made me so sad and not to mention all their work piling onto the rest of us.
