Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Transformative Growth

Let’s try to be real on this crybaby site for once. Transformative Growth was announced about 4 years ago. It was pitched to lower the expense ratio to make the auto product more competitive and make up market share differential with Geico and Progressive.

Since it was announced, prices are way up, employees have been slashed, agency footprint has been depleted and too many employees think that Allstate owes them something.

It’s been 4 years. For those of you that don’t know what you should do about your future, you have had 4 years and should to figure it out. The writing on the wall hasn’t changed.

The vendors do not pay severance. That is misinformation.

I for one only work what I feel like working. This company stole my sanity and work ethic so I steal a paycheck. Sc--w them.

So the vendor will give you severance?

I don’t view myself as a “thief”, I choose to view myself as someone getting whatever I can from Allstate before I’m terminated by the vendor which is the plan for everyone at this point which 3 CSL’s I know have confirmed. Trust me, low level management who will be terminated also are submitting phony work logs as well.

The Wolf 🐺 loves Transformative Growth! I was able to write 14 Allstate customer policies this week. The average tenure of the Allstate clients was 7.5 years. Allstate can have all of the digital clients they want. At the end of the day, the digital client is not very profitable. They generally have a short tenure with Allstate. Moreover, they tend to have more claims than the personal touch clients. Let Tom Wilson do his job. He is making a great deal of money for himself and his inner circle. Furthermore, his competitors such as myself 🐺 are having a feast on Allstate’s dime.

I do the bare minimum. My normal “work day” is about 4 maybe 5 hours. I give them what they give me……..

So for the folks who think k they know the future but rarely deliver on them, when are they going to announce to the roughly 20k claims employees that they are moving to a vendor.

I would like that info so I can come back and tell you that you were full of it

Everyone customer facing loves to see everyone else saying they work minimal... That really helps the situation. It makes it hard to service and sell new policies when everyone can read online that Allstate is a mess...

So then we shrink, then need to take more rates, and shrink, and then pi-s off customers, then shrink, then need more rates... Transform away.

Work for what you are paid, if you work for 3 hours but are paid for 8, you are a thief.

Last post is pretty accurate. As of 1-1-24 there will no Allstate employees except some in management roles. Everyone will be offered a chance to be re-badged to the vendor now handling that area, there will be no severance transfer to go along with the new “employer” you have, you begin day one with zero days of service. By mid-2024 most of the “new” employees of the vendors will be terminated and their roles will be handled by people the vendors already have in place, or possibly by the folks in India. Once terminated you receive 4-6 months of severance depending on when in 2024 you leave. If you quit or don’t accept the offer to re-badge, you get nothing…… no unemployment AND no severance since you’d be turning down an offer of employment.

The date for claims being reported here is actually a little off per the information we have. It is not 1/1/2024, it is actually in March 2024. And it is not layoffs for most but rebadging most claims roles over to the one of the vendors and the employees will be moved over to employees of the vendor along with their respective roles to continue their employment with the vendor.

I used the company's implementation of "Transformative Growth" as an opportunity for me to do a little "Transformative growth" for myself. After all everyone should grow, yes? My transformation for myself is I stopped the stressing and worrying about this company and trying to be better than expected. I scaled back my focus and efforts to match the pay, appreciation, and efforts that the company gives to me. No more nose to the grindstone 8-10 hours a day. They get what they put in. I work relaxed, stress free, and they get what I give them and I decide how much I do. They can't have it both ways. They can't pay lower than average wages, keep us in the dark, and keep us working scared and expect 100% effort. It just doesn't work that way. If the company can have their "Transformative Growth" then each of us can decide to do a little transforming to what makes us better. For me its scale back the efforts, wash away the stress, and do what I feel is fair for the treatment and compensation I receive from Chicago. Nothing more, nothing less. They want more then they need to pay out more fair wages and treat me like a respected human being. That folks is my "Transformative Growth" and I feel it is working out great for me.

Well said. Nobody has to stay. I left last year and don't miss any of it.

To be fair I think the idea of a "career" is starting to become outdated. Especially since the pandemic you see that companies will lay people off when it benefits them. You really need to just work for the money and year to year. I'm still with allstate because of the money.

I know I’m gone on or before 1-1-24 as are almost every current Allstate employee which I’ve had 2 managers confirm so i probably work 2-3 hours a day at most which gives my time to look at other jobs I may have interest in so I can try to get ahead of coworkers who will all be going for jobs come New Years Day.

I gota side gig that I enjoy and still get my work done here AND do a better job than most. This used to be an amazing job that I would strive to constantly go above and beyond for but with company transformation I too was moved to transform. He-l, I play a lot more golf and drink on a patio half the time I’m doing Allstate work so no complaints from me!!!
Use it to your advantage people! Sometimes you gotta create work/life balance. They don’t give a damn about you so don’t let them destroy your sanity. Extra time and energy invested in your work product and customers will no longer get you anywhere here

Well said by OP. This is the real world and we all have to deal with it. We are owed a paycheck every other week for an honest day’s work. Nothing more, nothings less. If you feel you are owed more for some reason, go to San Francisco and live on a tent on the sidewalk. It appears the will be taken care of by the government for doing nothing (but dr-gs).

The leaders should come out and say where they see the company in 5 years. How many on shore and off shore and vendor associates will there be ? What does the company look like to them in 2028? Everyone and every company should have a 5 year plan. Just spouting the words “as we transform” and “transformative growth” doesn’t mean anything unless the clear vision is laid out transparently. They just continue to gaslight and Bob and Weave around and make everyone read between the lines of their BS. Despicable organization.

Why wait…there is no severance for most. Which means a poor strategy for most.

But then some of us like o see the world burn. Especially when the world was warned the match was being lit.

And most still here are waiting them out until retirement or the next layoff. Just waiting to see what they’re gonna do. There is zero loyalty. It’s just a paycheck to get by on and a waiting game for the next puzzle test. There’s not one employee who thinks Allstate is an ethical company. The surveys are not reality. The employees don’t want to see stock price go down so they play the game of happy happy. It’s all they can do
