Thread regarding USAA layoffs

I'm ready for today

I spent most of the night thinking about it, and I came to the conclusion that worse things can happen in my career than getting laid off from USAA. This is not the same company it was ten or even five years ago and leaving here with a severance package could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. If there are more layoffs today, I'll embrace it instead of fear it.

That's a great attitude. None of this is in our control, and I don't know a single person who worked at USAA and didn't end up in a better position after leaving.
I was laid off early last year in that first wave and got a job with a competitor after taking it easy for a little while. I am now paid a lot more than I was making at USAA, doing the same job and with almost exactly the same benefits.

In economics you are a unit of labor, your labor and time is rewarded with money. I never understood why people got attached to their jobs especially lowadays.

That's the right attitude, but you can rest easy. No more layoffs will happen today. They are done for the moment. Other posts say mid-June for next round though.
