Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

VK’s Leadership Style

Just finished a skip level meeting with VK. Said multiple times that his leadership style as CEO will be to think about the employee first. Said DMC and DA did not treat employees well and he wants to reduce the number of people quitting.

Leaders, especially new leaders, always talk the Leadership BS, and they never actually DO it. They just talk the talk to warm people up to them with the slim hope that maybe, just maybe, this new person "gets it".

But they don't and he won't and it is all BS, they are all the same.

Kaput and Kooter will wreck the company even more than Dairy A-- did.

Wow. That’s a monumental task to unwind 20 years of brutal warfare on employees!

Yep, everyone who knows this company knows how they work. Change out CEO, “restructure, reorganize” blah, blah. Sc--w the employees however you can get away with it legally, keep chasing people out who know what they are doing and hiring fresh college grads for minimum wage. Layoff those you can’t chase out.

I have to agree with the feeling that this is a BS post. In the 39 years i worked at Aero (we meaning the phx. site) NEVER had any skip levels with the top dawg. A couple with Tim M when he was aero SBU big dawg. He-l the 1 and only time DA visited they spent $$$ on new landscaping around several buildings, painting some areas and other 5s activities to spruce the place. Skip level? HECK NO
Just remember the old saying doing is greater than saying. GL to you all.
10+ years of enjoying retirement and loving our (wife & me) monthly hand outs. LOL

First, I don't believe that he said it.

Second, all leaders spout the same nonsense. Judge them by what they DO.

Their words are just intended to s*ck people in and placate them, give the hope things might change. It's just leadership b s.

VK would never say that. He’s very loyal to DA. There is no way he would say that to someone. VK moves quietly and swiftly, he never telegraphs his next move.

Remember - The Board has a say and one must wonder what they are thinking about how a once source of pride company to work for is where it is today.

Perhaps VK is being inserted because of his tenure. All these leaders that were parachuted in were simply self serving.

VK has the opportunity to be written up in a Harvard case study as the person that saved the company. After 41 years I got canned by these id--ts that came and went. It was tough but I now wish VK all the best.

What, this is a bull5hit made up post. Not a chance would VK say something like this targeting DA and DC before he is even officially in the position. Na, someone is trolling.

Agree. I also thought this was a very suspicious post. Would not surprise me if VK is using one of these tacky boutique PR firms for the start of his tenure or more likely using a low cost offshore version.

I am very skeptical of this post, starting with that anyone on this board would have a skip-level with the pending CEO.

VK treating employees well... Ahahaa. That does not match his history, I will bring this post up in a year just to rub it in. Trust me, we still have new depths to plunge.

Rumor has it VK was overheard chanting “Kali ma KALI MA!” In a stall in the executive restrooms. If HW employees are going to get what they want, they all need to band together and STRIKE!!

I don't trust this company, but good on him for trying I guess. Let's see if he actually walks the walk.

This company needs an update from its abusive, outdated practices. I feel like I'm working for Darth Vader on the dark side and I go to work like a frightened Storm Trooper every day. It's terrifying working here.

Easiest way to reduce regrettable attrition is to reduce the number of opportunities.. ie you can’t quit if you don’t work here. Look for troublesome sites to be closed as part of a focus on core businesses.

Wake up and read the manual.

If employees ( not mgmt )actually get a decent raise and they nuke the absurd PIP process THEN I'll believe it. But a snowball in he-l has better odds than the above happening.

I'll believe that VK has a better employee focus when he gets rid of JW. JW is a main reason so many valuable people have left SPS. And probably now the corporate portion that he is in. JW is worthless and damaging.

He said the exact same thing when he took over PMT, in fact previous PMT CEO RG even mentioned in his departing mail that VK was a great advocate for employees.
Within 2 months UOP was decimated, he was happy to force VAX mandate, end remote work, asked all his direct reports to come to Houston, followed by hiring BH to lead SME, who destroyed SME and has now been promoted to HBT CEO. The relo from NJ to TX led to some very competent employees resigning as VK never agreed to them being based in NJ.
I can go on about all he has done, but his past actions don't give hope

"We care about the employees"

"We want you to be proud to work here"

"We are a family at Honeywell"

And other assorted lies they want us to believe. The CEOs job is to make himself, the leaders and the shareholders rich; full stop. They couldn't care less about people quitting because it actually helps the bottom line in the short term. Why pay 10 people when you can pay 5 people and work them to death?
