Big Marketing Lay off today! 200 ppl!

Why the he-l did AMD even have 200 marketing people in the 1st place? That means they actually have more than 200 people. Even if it was a 50% cut it means they had 400 people. Why do they need more than 10-20?
These marketing people think they can come to tech companies and just get insane salaries for something that you could easily do with a high school diploma and some basic Microsoft Office skills and they make 6 figures. Ditto sales and recruiting.
How is the client PC business unit at AMD? Got an interview for the Marketing Program Manager role. Not sure if its a safe role to be in, well no roles are safe in today's time but Marketing seems to get affected everytime.
AMDs marketing kinda su-ks I mean... with this lay off you'd hope they probably rehire to replace haha
