Started at USAA well over a decade ago. It was a company I dreamed of working for. It was HARD to get an interview. I felt like I hit the lotto. The mission was amazing and I was here amazed at the culture.
Made myself stand out just by my work. USAA was top notch and looked over everything single detail. I/we took pride in our work. I am an EE employee working from home for nine years. I’ve had 5 ideas implemented companywide.
None of that rings true for USAA today.
Working from home and being collaborative CAN be done and has been proven to be effective. We have done it and done it well. Not sure what “studies” they are using. There is very clearly more to this RTO than just “seats to be filled”
STOP.
“Remote employees that worked at home precovid can remain at home (for now)“.. wtf does that mean? Two weeks, 3 months? What is their motive and path here? I don’t have time to play games.
Let’s be transparent and be the company we used to be. This company is so far beyond where it used to be that my fear is that it’s not salvageable and it’s going to take way more than anyone bargained for to get it back on course. Execs making these ridiculous decisions are so far removed from front line and have zero idea what’s happening other than their “we see you, we hear you” responses ….they just forgot to add..”we also don’t care”
Every year since I started it has consistently went down hill after Gen. Robles left. Our mission is not followed. Our customer service is tanking bad. We are not given the tools to be actual adjusters just phone reps. Yet, constantly told “do better.” How do you propose we do that? Just keep piling on the work and putting a band aid on, isn’t going to fix anything.
Let’s out source every dept and then make actual USAA employees do triple work bc we are fixing their sc--w ups when it gets back to us. Okay, makes so much sense. What money are they saving?
I’m ending my soapbox by saying.. my time with the company is coming to an end soon and not one person has reached out to say “what went wrong, why are you leaving” is it because they don’t care or because they already know. At first, I was worried about the decision to leave but their lack of caring has solidified that I made the best decision.
