Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Managing by fear

I can't wait to get out of here. Management seems to be reduced to exploiting employees' fear of losing their jobs. Do they know how to manage in some other way? It's disgusting.

it started to backfire. Several good talent (software engineer seniors and leads) is leaving the company next week. I worry more good talent will follow the suit and this toxic place will be unbearable anymore. Since you can't hire domestic fte or contractors anymore, good luck getting the job done on time and meeting the deadlines with novice nearshore and offshore folks only

I have an affinity for finding horrible working conditions (outside of sweatshop conditions). This is one of the absolute WORST environments I've ever worked in. The ineptitude and failures from leadership are astonishing. The trust is non existent, and every day is a struggle.

I never needed therapy until working here. And I've worked at Oracle, IBM, Dell, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, and BofA.

Everyone of those companies had at least one thing positive to get you through the day. With RTO USAA ki-led their one thing. All that's left is a dumpster fire
