Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Letter arrived

So my Concentrix letter came in the mail yesterday……I am being offered a job at the same salary but with no job title? It states they are evaluating all roles and will place me where they feel I am needed. They also state since I am being offered a new job with a new company, I start as a trainee somewhat with no severance coming from my “previous employer” (their words). I have 30 days to accept or reject this offer but if I reject it, there’s no unemployment given and no severance, as I mentioned. Thanks Allstate, you really stuck it to us!!!!

Scr@w the customer and the employee…
It is the current Allsnake way….
I have personally lost them quite a few customers with word of mouth as to what is happening…
I only pray that I am never involved in an incident with anyone who has their lousy product….I do not want to ever be forced to deal with these bast@@ds…

I'm also in wns and came from ASIC. I haven't heard anything about people getting transfered to other areas of WNS outside of insurance. Not saying it's not happening because I know how unpredictable things can be

Who would have thought they the biggest winners were the ones who were laid off in 2020….
All of those folks retained in 2020 ended up being taken for a ride. Yeah, they got work an additional 2-3 years but for what???
Now being placed in call centers with their job always hanging over their head and no severance if you want to start over…….
So happy my relationship with this pile of dung is over both professional and customer.

From what I’ve heard the jobs people are being transferred to have absolutely nothing to do with insurance, some are in direct sales, some are survey takers, some are political action calls…..yes, Allstate completely is throwing all of us under the bud and it’s legal so they don’t care at all.

Former agency services to WNS here. The prior poster is pretty spot on. They are starting to evaluate us for other roles with other companies as needed that they do business with. The vendor will never lay off or pay severance as they always have other roles and company duties that they can shove you to. And they were clear that refusal of any of these roles would be akin to us quitting on our own and they would dispute unemployment. It really is a cr-ppy situation they put all of us in. Either do their bidding or quit with nothing.

@1ito,
It is sleazy, depending on one's ethics, it is unethical.
But it's not a crime.
Allstate has been very careful to make sure what it is doing is not criminal.

The skillset for these vendor jobs can't be high. These are all call center type jobs

Allstate then the vendor then a layoff. Sounds like we’d get unemployment at least after the vendor gets rid of us for cheaper labor off shore or down south. if we don’t have a nervous breakdown before then and go on stress leave. Happy mental health awareness month

What does WNS stand for?

This sounds legit. In ASIC we were informed by out leadership that we would be offered roles formally with WNS and we all received letters. We had to either had to log into their site with our confirmation number and other information to esign or return the letter signed by a certain date to accept the offer of our current role that they are now the employer for or it would be considered and reported a voluntary resignation. Most all of us signed because we needed a paycheck until we are/were able to find something else (I'm still in the process of this). A few refused to sign on with WNS and left on their own. Now only about 45 days with WNS they are now asking us to complete information documents declaring all of our prior professional experience to possible changes to roles to some of their other clients in other industries as needed. The vendor can move and place you in any industry and role for any company that they are contracted with. One of my peers from ASIC is already being moved to a collections role for a mobile phone carrier since he did similar work before Allstate. Essentially once you become employees of these vendors they can move you around at will to whatever role and industry they need as a condition of your employment. Kind of like a glorified temp agency. Of course we can refuse but then again they consider that a voluntary resignation. Not sure how Concentrix does things but this is our experience with WNS so far.

The force used in placing employees with vendors to get out of severance and unemployment is a crime.
