Next phase is to push fully remote people to an office. This would immediately make a lot of these people resign because they do not want to relocate.

I heard Carl Icahn wasn’t impressed with Michael’s book and he is setting up for an activist approach to acquire enough shares to gain influence on the board and campaign and push for a spin out of the client business to HP and ISG segment to Cisco or similar.

@4bpq+1mBqucWY Maybe move farther away?

What about the people who are fully remote because the moved away during the pandemic? Now they have the advantage of not having to do in the office. This is unfair to those who live near a dell office.

@3qos+1mBqucWY Who said anything about quiet quitting? Doing 40 hours a week instead of 50+ isn't quiet quitting. Keep an eye on the koolaid mix, it might be a little on the strong side.

This said it perfectly. RTO is about layoffs

"We are a company of metrics. Someone did that metric.

It was as crystal clear that this wilk reduce staff as people will resign who dont want to be here. There is the layoff. A lot of dead wood, some good. Time will tell fast."

Add to that .Anyone who thinks they can go to the office and quiet quit doesnt remember what Dell was like pre-covid or even worse pre-covid. Talk time, TAP, Trip Reports, E-Pen, metrics metrics metrics metrics. If you quiet quit your metrics will show it.

Going to the office and doing nothing wont be an option.

The WFH was one of the last perks.
No fuel cost.No travel. No lunch expenses.
Saving on time sitting in traffic for no reason which genuine staff put more time into actual work or spend time on work life balance.
This wont stop at 3 days in the office.
3 days is the minimum from what we have been told which means 4 then 5 no doubt.
Dell has less buildings, less cafeteria staff on site and less parking.
This is 100% to push staff out.
The issue is now you cant actually believe anything managment promise which is a big issue IMO.
If staff cant trust Dell how de we convince customers?

This isn't about you. This is about layoffs. Overall, everyone will have to make changes to face RTO and people will leave as a result.

That is what is clear as day. The RTO will reduce staff and remove a lot of people who were half in half out without going through mass layoffs.

If you decide to "quiet quit" and make a stand in the office that is your call and good that will get some balance back. But overall this will reduce headcount with the most obvious people.

Time will not tell fast at all. All this will do is give those that are hiding the opportunity to hide in the office. I will not be looking elsewhere for a role. Instead I will 100% be working to the terms of my contract. No more eating lunch at the desk so I can attend a call scheduled at lunch. No more 7am starts to catch up with colleagues in different time zones etc. I'm looking forward to the break.

Real story here. The messaging was very clear this week. The RTO is not a maybe. Hybrid is over and we have changed.

The language internally was also clear "but I have changed my life to work from home". Well you can change your life to work from the office.

We are a company of metrics. Someone did that metric.

It was as crystal clear that this wilk reduce staff as people will resign who dont want to be here. There is the layoff. A lot of dead wood, some good. Time will tell fast.

I heard Michael Dell is taking the company private and running the company from his garage again

everyone has a story.

There is nothing known about Layoffs so far

Are they planning - always - nothing new

will they do it - always there is people being let go but in 150k organisation there so many people that bring minimum value that it's not suprise

will they fire sales - yes , of course - sales are reasons why sales don't go according to the plan. It's never 'the plan' that is wrong.

Dell had last 2-years best ever ...so this time you can't beat the number and here it is.

Dell cut 5% and may cut another 5% by year end.

I cut 10% on my spendings when I see my revenue is shrinking due to lack of commission etc

will I spent back my 10% - right after I get my revenue back. Will I buy the same things that I postponed purchase - likely not

So until there is someone here with details and quotas per geo/org - please seat down , have a popcorn and enjoy the ride

Layoffs in the middle of the quarter? It won’t happen. At least make it something believable like beginning or end of Q. Looks at previous rounds of layoffs

Dell’s revenue is expected to be -22 percent or 5 billion less than last year for the quarter. You bet there is going to be a big layoff. At least 10000. Good luck.
