Hypothetically... if you are getting laid off and start PTO on the 22nd and take 2 weeks off, will you get paid for those 2 weeks and get laid off when you come back?

WHEN you get laid off the process is very quick. Be ready for it when it happens to you. I was officially laid off back in August of 2020. Was told I was done in June of 2020 thru a phone call from my boss. I was working from home. Many others were terminated the same day and same way. I had about an hour of access to the Seagate mail system from home to say goodbye to life long coworkers. Just before the call I lost access to all my engineering documents. I knew the call was coming. Get any of your personal stuff and off your company laptop now.
I found LinkedIn was a great tool to start my job search. The free Seagate provided help was not helpful except for editing my resume. To find your next job the Dave Ramsey Group recommends making connections now with all your Seagate, industry, and college friends. Your best new job prospects will come from people who know you, can reach you, and know what you can do. It's called the Proximity Principal. Get the word out as soon as you are laid off to everyone you know.
Seagate ain't gonna let something silly like time off or vacation get in the way of sh-t canning people. Remember this is the company that had a major layoff at the beginning of the pandemic before there was a vaccine and when we were all cowering at home disinfecting our groceries before bringing them in the house. Back then Seagate business was good too.
That's correct. A simple phone call would be enough.
I imagine it's a simple matter of a manager calling your phone to deliver the official news. Hey, go for it and let us know how it worked out.
