Coaches Corner

I've noticed a huge portion of the coaches these days are weirdos, I mean really weird..... anyone else feel this way? Is it a cult thing? Help me out 16yr associate wants to know before I become a coach, MIT. I mean when their training me all we do is sit in an office and eat, they usually doze off or say really d-mb things. Help me please

it is true that a few smart and capable people fall "up" through the ranks of management at Sams. But very few. Generally The training teams main goal is make you into one of them. They fill you with stupidity and after awhile you believe you are right about everything because of course you are you're a manager ! Also they actively recruit people they think are d-mber than themselves. Or at least no smarter than them. If you are a genuinely smart person with real management skills you may just be one of those who will fall up through the cracks. Generally they weed folks like that out early on though. Over the years I have seen so many d-mb people get promoted that I had to conclude the promoting of d-mb people was actually the goal. Here is an example. A manager once when seeing a 3/4 moon asked me with a straight face if it might be full by the end of the night ! One manager goes around repeating things they read on facebook as if they had thought of it on their own. Not quoting facebook but rather saying the thing like they just thought of it. Those two managers have been in the same club together for almost 20 years. We had one GM who was truly trying to take care of the associates and that got him canned. The reason I believe that to be the reason for him getting fired was that as soon as he left the onslaught of things happing bad for associates came immediately. So if you go on to become a manager please be honest with your associates. Do not play the favorites game. Do not take criticism of you managing personally. Do not hide things from your associates that would be good for them or they might like. Remember your associates are people not pack animals. Also understand that that endcap will be fine if it is not 8 feet tall.
