I did not mention anything about micromanaging, my friend. Please don't interpret hidden meanings. What I actually said was that the Board of Directors (BOD) is responsible for selecting the CEO, who is an employee just like us, and represents the owners of the company. Therefore, it is up to the BOD to assess whether the CEO is fulfilling their responsibilities effectively.
sounds like you think the BOD micro manages what the CEO does? Do you really think that given the limited time the BOD actually works for Seagate they do that?
It seems unjust to me. The CEO's role is to steer the company in accordance with the guidance of the shareholders. Consider this: Who interviews and appoints the CEO? It's not the EVPs or SVPs, but the Board. Thus, the CEO is simply carrying out the directives of the Board. Rather than criticizing the CEO, it might be more appropriate to question the competency of the Board.
