Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Any benefits suggestions when it comes time for resignation?

I’m going to be resigning shortly and I’m not sure if anyone has any tips/tricks when it comes to cashing out pto and what happens with the hsa/benefits. I’m in Florida if that matters. I don’t feel comfortable asking hr for obvious reasons. I just want to be prepared because at my last job I was told at my exit interview I couldn’t cash out certain things and that I’d lose everything in my fsa if not used by that day and I’d hate to be blindsided again.

PTO is cashed out, I was told it is not but got another check after I turned in my equipment. HSA funds are still available and accessible with your card.

you can speak to employee relations and ask about benefits at anytime. understanding your options is normal and a common conversation ER supports. They try and make most of the information self-service, but since some is a case-by-case situation, its better to have a conversation

It’s pretty standard.

My only advice, don’t tell them you are going to an employer. State it’s due to mental health from work environment.

Also, meet with ER & Manager at the same time.

Keep it short and sweet. Don’t expect them to ask for you to stay.

Finally, ask for payment in lieu of 2 weeks.

Look it up on Connect, it’s prorated except for the 2 week’s minimum. It’s all in go/pto.

I’ve heard secondhand that PTO is prorated.

I'm not totally sure, but from what I understand, PTO isn't cashed out if you leave during the year - or it might be pro-rated. Use all of it up first.
