Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

Let me get this straight

Saleh lays off thousands, right? The majority of these folks are experienced and educated. Then he turns around and hires inexperienced people instead of moving the experienced and educated people. Yeah that’s some good leadership right there…

My coworkers that were just hired within the last couple of months have zero experience and their background is something completely unrelated. They can’t help or contribute until trained. And yet we let a bunch of folks go that could have transferred and contributed immediately.

Simply amazing…

Wow! I worked at DXC and narrowly escaped the bloodletting in 2019. That is when Saleh and the then CEO hired McKinsey to pick groupings of people to layoff without leader input, regard to performance or skills. I left on my own a few months later. I had the chance to go to Gainwell and ultimately turned down the job since Paul Saleh was at the healm. So glad as he ruined DXC!

Based on who you talk too, the plan was to migrate the DXC and HPe people into Gainwell and then hire new people under them and train them. Kind of build a mentorship program and bring in new blood because realistically the average age of the DXC and HPe employee's are 50 years old or older. Those people came across with their salaries and benefits having enjoyed 20 year careers at the those companies. Well that became expensive to swallow. So they started chopping heads and now you have a bunch of un-mentored newbies not being managed or trained properly and you have disgruntled DXC and HPe employee's left over that are looking to get out and not adopting the mentoring program and not training any of these newbies. And now everyone is pointing fingers.

Saleh’s answer to problems is hire more people. But sadly that just means layoffs later.

He is definitely not employee focused. We really mean nothing to him. He can layoff and not even tell people it’s coming. No need we don’t matter.

He is the epitome of ignorant when it comes to cari g about employees.

I am personally looking for another job. It’s not if I will leave, it’s when.

My advice to ALL Gainwell employees is to find something else before you suffer the layoff fate under Saleh’s management. In this case the grass is truly greener for all of us elsewhere.

And with a pending sale in the mix you should definitely get out.

In Paul Saleh’s tenure at DXC and Gainwell he has definitely laid off thousands. He’s definitely a piece of work. It’s his way. Just lay them off. You as a person mean nothing to him. Doesn’t matter that you have experience. Doesn’t matter that you have education. Doesn’t matter that you have a family. You are dirt beneath his Gucci loafers.

Thousands. Yes definitely.

The man has no conscience.

Thousands? I'm only hearing much smaller numbers via the rumor mill. Nobody officially tells us anything. We only have 10 or 15k employees, I forget which, so thousands sounds way high.

You are not wrong.

Pretty pi-s poor way to run a company. Amazing there hasn’t been a walkout.

Incompetent leadership starts with Paul Saleh and goes all the way down to those mid level managers.

I’m seriously looking for another job.

Those that got laid off are better off simply by not being employed at Gainwell Technologies any longer.

What a pathetic company.

How does it feel to just be a number?

Makes perfect sense if you understand the dynamics at play. You've got a company heavy in mid to low level managers that don't really know the business but think they do. The experienced people aggravate the he-l out of them as they point out the emperor has no clothes. They'd rather be surrounded by newbie yes men.

The key is retaining enough of the experienced people that won't stand up for themselves or the customer. This is why all the systems go in full of defects. But it's government work so they're used to cr-ppy systems. Am I wrong?
