Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Concentrix rumors

Our leaders in claims were telling us that we will be partnering with something called Concentrix soon. No idea what that is but doesn't have us feeling too good.

Does anyone have more information on this? I also heard my boss mentioning Concentrix but without any details.

Based on observed patterns and insider insights, serious concerns have been raised about Concentrix’s business practices and strategic partnerships—particularly those involving government entities. Allegations suggest a systemic lack of transparency and ethical accountability, with certain leadership philosophies, attributed to executives such as Chris Caldwell, appearing to prioritize manipulation over integrity.

The recent appointment of Ryan Peterson as Chief Product Officer has also prompted skepticism, with questions around leadership efficacy and product direction. For example, initiatives such as "Hello IX" are being publicly promoted as customer experience innovations, yet feedback indicates these solutions underperform or fail to deliver tangible value.

Additionally, ongoing relationships with partners like Amazon have raised intellectual property concerns, with reports of exploitative dynamics that do not favor innovation or fair collaboration.

More broadly, critics argue that Concentrix appears to prioritize agent volume and government-aligned incentive structures over genuine customer outcomes. Until there is a meaningful shift in leadership and operating principles, caution is advised for those considering employment with or business partnerships involving the company

As a licensed service rep who potentially saw a career with Allstate, I was rebadged to concentrix at the beginning of 2023. It has been nothing but lies, receipt, and taking advantage of reps. Here are just a few issues I have.

They have taken away any sort of work life balance. There is hardly any PTO as compared to allstate. They told us there would be a “shift bid” coming up soon but what that really meant was taking our consistent days off away. Before, you knew what days you would be working months in advance. Now, they change your days off every week. And you no longer have 2 consecutive days off. They just select 2 random days off. I’ve literally never been screwed over by a company quite like this.

Also, management. It’s day in and day out of “surveys, surveys, surveys”. And the fact that there are not enough surveys coming in and the ones that do come in are bad. They blame this on the reps, not Allstate ja--ing up customer premiums. I have also never seen morale be as low as it is at concentrix. I started at Allstate over 2 years ago and I’ve still never had any raises or a hint of a promotion.

If you are being rebadged in the future, do everything you can to find another job. I am quite literally MISERABLE.

They can’t “announce” it, regular schmucks would revolt. Managers and leaders already know they’re all set with severance, stock buyouts, etc per the report on Fox Business I saw earlier this week which cited sources inside Concentrix.

PTO and insurance carries over for at least the rest of the calendar year that you are rebadged. Time of service really does not mean anything as the vendors don't use that for much of anything and once rebadged you are no longer an employee of Allstate and are an employee of the vendor doing work on behalf of Allstate. And the vendor can choose to move you to doing work for a different company in a different industry if they need to. The vendors are really just a glorified temporary staffing company that happen to have a large and growing contract with Allstate.

If rebadged does your pto, insurance and years of service carry over ?

Allstate found a jolly good way to sc--w employees out of severance it seems. And at the same time cash in on vendor contracts.

Yes but the Leaders will get buy out offers by 9-1 with severance and stock buyouts included and non-Leaders get absolutely nothing except a kick out the door come 1-1-24. Pretty sad honestly.

Hearing through our channels that adjusting and claims processing will re-badge to Concentrix and other claims roles will re-badge to WNS. Leaders will be re-badging as well,

You are correct, the transition to Concentrix begins in June/July with them handling “new” claims reported around that timeline. All current Allstate employees, or the large majority of them, will be given the option of being re-badged as working for Concentrix until the end of 2023. At that time, once 2024 begins, the re-badged employees will be terminated with no severance being offered. So you can hang for the next 8 months and get nothing but unemployment or start looking now for other opportunities in the insurance industry and at least have a job come 2024. If you wait too long, you’ll be competing with hundreds of people for available jobs so it makes sense to move quick on the job search. Good luck to everyone.

Concentrix own website shows their insurance services handle claims from start to finish.

Some will stay for the bitter end. Nice try though to get them out before the big announcement. Your tactics are used frequently to thin the herd and mitigate the risk of lawsuits. The diehards what to stay in case the C suite changes their minds on severance for the “grunts” as you call them. The more air play the slimy tactics of Allsnake get, the better for the little guys.

How many times were you grunts advised since 2020 there would be no severance? This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. make sure you smile for your new rebadge pic.

Interesting segment on Fox Business yesterday about Concentrix and other companies who are similar. The main appeal management has with having Concentrix “take over” is ANYONE with any management role is given a buyout option which includes severance, stock buyouts, etc. and anyone NOT in any management role is re-badged and terminated within 6-8 months due to a “re-structure” or “business needs change” which Concentrix decided on and they get no severance at all, not a penny. This is legal and has been unsuccessfully challenged in the courts on 3 separate occasions in the last 2 years. Best advice….begin actively looking for other opportunities with other companies as this change to Concentrix will happen by the end of 2023, per Fox’ sources.

BOLI needs to get involved. This is an unfair labor practice and has created a hostile work environment no matter how clandestine they are trying to be. The company’s motives are clear and unjust. While Tom Wilson continues to take 15 million or more per year, every year.

"Encourage"??? They will simply rebadge you like they did CCC, ASIC, RMBC, and other areas. There has been and is no choice in this. If you don't accept a rebadge it is considered a voluntary termination with no severance and no unemployment in most states. So you either rebadge to the vendors and let the eventually decide your fate (and no the vendors have no severance program) or it is the same as you just quitting on your own. Pretty slimy what this company has done and continues to do regarding this.

Concentrix website confirms they will be handling Allstate personal lines effective 6-1-23 and they “encourage” all employees of Allstate to make the transition. Lol. They must think people don’t realize making the jump means bye bye to severance.

The main reason Concentrix is in the picture is for Allstate to avoid paying severance…….and it’s completely legal what they’re doing but it’s sad they’d do this to employees on the way out the door!!!

As many people have stated…. Every dept will be outsourced to a vendor or to AllPune…. Stop wasting your time complaining and find a new job. Allstate is making sure severance is not an option.

Multiple former Concentrix employees have described their dissatisfaction with the company's high turnover culture and low wages. Concentrix has also been sued for wage theft.[9]
In July 2021, Pro Publica published an article describing the world of work-at-home customer service provider companies including Concentrix. The article mentions how workers are demanded to provide quality support while getting low hourly wages. Concentrix claims to be based in the Bay Area but most of its work force is based outside of the US, noticeable in Canada, India and Portugal. “You don’t know if you’re going to have a job tomorrow.” [10]
In 2014, Concentrix won a £75 million contract from the UK's tax authority, the HMRC, to review two million tax credit claims for fraud and incorrect tax credit awards.[11] Tax credits are a form of UK social welfare benefit paid out to parents and workers on low incomes.
In 2016, Concentrix was receiving heavy criticism from the cross-party parliamentary committee on welfare for incorrectly closing the claims of tens of thousands of claimants, leaving them without money for essentials.[12] A government report disclosed that of 36,000 appeals against Concentrix, 87% were upheld. In September 2016, the HMRC announced that it would not renew the contract, due to expire in 2017, although the Treasury has resisted calls for a full inquiry thus far. As a result of Concentrix's failings, thousands of claimants are also due to receive back-payments for incorrectly stopped claims. Processing the resultant case reviews cost HMRC $3 million.

I point blank asked my leader today about it and he was like "Where did you hear about that?" and seemed bothered that I asked him. Sounds like there are some things going on behind the scenes here in claims and this Concentrix thing seems to be involved.

Concentrix takes over companies who want to sell or not continue operating and they slowly cut staff until the employees are gone. It’s just a way for Allstate to bail and not be forced into paying severance to anyone
