Thread regarding USAA layoffs

They do everything to avoid paying severance

Isn't it obvious? This company has become a total mess.

What is a JAR?

As a Director you should know this. No?

You’ll notice managers are encouraging JAR’s for hybrid employees to stay remote. JAR is not the same as FMLA and will not “protect” you.

If you are near and office (60 miles or less) just go in 3 days a week.

I know it’s not the popular thing to say on here, but if you want to keep your job, just do it. Cannot stress this enough.

Have you submitted your JAR request yet? I believe they are going to accommodate situations like yours and JAR is the right process.

I was hired as full remote during the pandemic, I do live about 50 miles from one of the offices. However I have medical needs that, in my opinion should allow me to continue as full remote. Do you think they will make exceptions for employees that need accommodations, or force us all into the office? I am an IT director living outside of Charlotte, NC

Yes for those 475. That make headlines. What we don’t hear about is the “quiet firing”. Withholding pay raises, passing over promotions, changing job requirements (that they know you are no longer meeting), “performance issues” out of the blue.

It’s much more common than you think

What are you talking about?????????? They just laid off 475 and EVERY one of them is being offered help with career placement and severance if they can't find an internal job.
