Here is the hard truth….I’ve been on the team. We are paid significant amounts of equity to retain us and to make progress. Unfortunately, we have to SHOW success. We are told that HAMR works, by our bosses, not the other way round.
The truth is not that simple, it works
- it doesn’t work. There are many many many parameters that need to get to a stage of perfection for the cacophony to become a melody. What we have right now are a large number of musical instruments, they are all playing sounds, mostly on their own. When we take a small sample, significantly simplify the notes, run the output through a auto-tuner, with not all instruments playing; A melody comes out once in 500 attempts. That is HAMR !
It’s like, nuclear fusion. Yes it works, in theory, at CERN, in a particle accelerator. But no fusion reactors !
