This company has been total sh-t for quite a while. They haven’t valued their employees in years. Quality of service is tanking. Upper level management are clowns. You can rename sh-t several times but it’s still sh-t. Centurylink was the beginning of the end. Now it’s a flat spin. Hopefully there’s money left to pay the people that had pensions before the next name change and bankruptcy kicks it. How do you expect to keep good employees when you cr-p on them. The chickens are roosting!

Climate change is to blame.
The fiber back bone has been there for years. Remember qwest was selling access to shell companies on anshitz railroad dark fiber. CTL brought fiber to the home 9 years ago. Its not just now being placed. At least make the lie a little bit believable when trying to fool the masses.
“ We exist to keep the gears turning so our CEO can get their 6 figure golden parachute for working here 3-4 years”
Not sure where you have been looking but….8 figure golden parachutes are the normal for the last 2!! Pretty good gig if your in the right network of “highly respected industry leaders” shown the door club
The few veteran techs still around, told the company way back when DSL came out that they needed to start placing fiber, or at least put the copper in conduit so it could be replaced, but as usual they refused to listen to the “id--ts” and then deployed DSLAMS 10 years too late and now are just getting on board with fiber, after most of the competitors or cities have already placed their own. IF lumen does actually massively place fiber it will be too late in most areas and will eventually be sold off like all the rest of it few assets it has left. This place is dying and will be history sooner than later. It’s too bad because it had the potential to be an industry leader but corporate greed from legacy tech got in the way.
I am over 30 years and still here. I'm ready to go, done my time. But I agree, this is not the same company at all! No one in my state knows who the fk Lumen is. I can walk into any gas station or store and say I work for Lumen and they respond, who or what is that? USWest and Qwest were in the top 5 telecom companies. Heck almost to 4th spot. Now we are off the grid and trying to compete with Google Fiber, Verizon and major players in this industry as we continue to shrink and belittle the last few employees. Our purpose is to still go out there and fix the same F2 that has never been replaced. Or place fiber in one area on top of copper. Seriously take the fiber to the home and offer Fiber home services. Enough of this piecing sht service together with no advertising. But I get it, how do you advertise fe--s? Sht. We exist to keep the gears turning so our CEO can get their 6 figure golden parachute for working here 3-4 years. And I'm over 30 keeping the lights on at a stuck pay and threats of surplus or link 2 sht.
