Thread regarding USAA layoffs

The sad truth

Had nothing to do with performance. It was all about headcount and salaries. All the low performers already got released a couple of years ago. Last October’s wave of layoffs included high performers.

This is the sad truth. There are very few low performers left. Current and future layoffs are all about the numbers. That's it. Nobody is safe.

It was never about low performers. It's always been about which people can be "let go" without upsetting the business too much. Not too surprisingly, folks who are/were on extended leave were let go. I mean ... if you're gone for 6 months, no one's gonna miss you.
