My answer to that question is that the company culture starts at the top.

Indeed, USAA has only hired from failed Banks or those that have had similar troubles of late - Wells Fargo, Citi, and Bank of America. Otherwise personnel from Banks too small to know how to navigate the regulatory scrutiny.
It would be great to see USAA focus on a few key leaders from Banks like JP Morgan Chase or Truist.
Most importantly though, in addition to people managers, USAA needs leaders that bring clear vision in their fields that is based on rules of simplicity.
I love the company. I hope the needed change comes quickly.
It got toxic when USAA hired all of the “big bank” talent, which was all of the big banks garbage. USAA tries to brag about this talent when all they’re doing is trying to polish turds. The place has become more toxic with Tamla and all of these extreme rules that are driving the company into the ground. What does Wayne do? Only push it harder. This company won’t be around for another 100 years with Wayne and Tamla calling shots
